El Ramon Eilat International Airport se inaugurará a fines de Enero 2019, mientras que las operaciones aerocomerciales comenzarán en Marzo 2019. El nuevo aeropuerto, el segundo aeropuerto internacional de Israel, está listo para impulsar la economía israelí con un aumento del turismo esperado.

נמל התעופה רמון חייב את שמו לזכרו של אילן רמון, האסטרונאוט הישראלי הראשון שמת בתאונת המעבורת קולומביה ב -2003.
