American Airlines formaliza alianza con Interjet
American Airlines e Interjet anunciaron la creación de una alianza comercial que les permitirá ampliar la oferta de sus rutas mediante la conexión de sus vuelos. De esta manera, Interjet tendrá acceso a los vuelos internacionales de la aerolínea estadounidense, mientras que American Airlines podrá expandir su oferta dentro de México.
Esta alianza permitirá a ambas empresas aumentar el flujo de pasajeros en sus vuelos, ampliar la oferta para sus clientes y fortalecer su presencia a nivel internacional. En el caso de Interjet, los clientes de esta aerolínea podrán acceder a 350 destinos en los que opera American Airlines. Esto permitirá a la marca mexicana ganar presencia en mercados donde antes no tenía participación y aumentar el flujo de usuarios hacia el extranjero. Actualmente Interjet atiende 53 destinos, 32 en México y 21 en el exterior, con rutas principalmente a Estados Unidos, Canadá, Centro y Sudamérica. Durante 2018, la aerolínea mexicana movilizó a más de tres millones de pasajeros desde México hacia algún destino internacional, mientras que American Airlines movilizó 5.1 millones de usuarios, según datos de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes. La aerolínea estadounidense American Airlines podrá ofrecer vuelos a las diferentes ciudades de México en las que trabaja Interjet, sobre todo para sus clientes estadounidenses, que ven una gran opción para viajar.
De acuerdo con datos de la Secretaría de Turismo de México, durante 2018 llegaron a México 10.496.000 visitantes con nacionalidad estadounidense, lo que significó un 56.1% del total de las entradas vía aérea. De manera similar, Aeroméxico tiene un convenio con Delta Airlines para ofrecer vuelos en conjunto para ampliar las rutas de cada aerolínea y expandir la oferta de destinos a los usuarios.
