Piloto de Boeing revela incidentes antes de accidentes fatales
Un piloto de test de la Boeing reveló en 2016 que el 737 MAX tenía problemas en el sistema MCAS. Los accidentes ocurridos en Indonesia, en Octubre 2018 y en Etiopía en Marzo 2019 dejaron un saldo de 367 muertos.
El piloto Mark Forkner de la empresa estadounidense Boeing reveló en 2016 que los problemas relacionados con el Sistema de Control de Vuelo. Los hechos ocurieron dos años antes de los fatales accidentes en Indonesia y Etiopía. A través de mensajes de texto, le confió a un compañero que el avión era dificil de manejar. «Descarrila en el simulador», advirtió el piloto, y calificó esa experiencia como «atroz». De acuerdo a esa publicación, en las pruebas de Forkner falló el sistema MCAS, el mismo que desencadenó las tragedias en Indonesia y Etiopía.
La Agencia Federal de Aviación (FAA) accedió a esos mensajes y por eso acusó este Viernes 18/10 a Boeing de ocultar información sobre los 737 MAX. Los Boeing 737 MAX cumplen siete meses paralizados y aún no está claro cuándo volverán a volar. Según la FAA, Boeing descubrió hace meses los mensajes intercambiados por los empleados de la compañía sobre el proceso original de certificación de la aeronave, en 2016, pero no reveló su existencia hasta el Jueves pasado. «La última noche (del jueves), revisé un documento preocupante que Boeing proporcionó el Jueves a última hora al Departamento de Transporte», dijo Steve Dickson, administrador de la FAA, en una carta al Jefe de Boeing, Dennis Muilenburg.
«Entiendo que Boeing descubrió el documento en sus archivos hace meses. Espero su inmediata explicación sobre el contenido de este documento y la demora de Boeing en informar de su existencia a los reguladores de seguridad», agregó el Jefe de la FAA.
Según una fuente cercana al caso, los empleados mencionan en sus intercambios que Boeing entregó a la FAA información engañosa sobre un software importante del 737 MAX. Según revela The New York Times, en sus mensajes Forkner señala que mintió sin saberlo a los reguladores.
El 737 MAX está inhabilitado para volar desde hace siete meses, debido a los accidentes en Indonesia y Etiopía, que se produjeron con apenas cinco meses de diferencia.

«I understand that Boeing discovered the document in its archives months ago. I look forward to your immediate explanation about the content of this document and the delay of Boeing in informing the security regulators of its existence», added the FAA Chief.
According to a source close to the case, the employees mention in their exchanges that Boeing delivered to the FAA misleading information about an important 737 MAX software. As revealed by The New York Times, in his messages Forkner notes that he lied without knowing the regulators.
The 737 MAX is unable to fly for seven months, due to accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia, which occurred only five months apart.
