Aeropuerto Roatán recibe certificación internacional
El Aeropuerto Juan Manuel Gálvez de Roatán, Islas de la Bahía, en la República de Honduras recibirá la certificación internacional como aeródromo seguro por parte de la Agencia Hondureña de Aeronáutica Civil (AHAC) con el aval de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI). El aeropuerto recibirá la certificación después de que llegara el primer vuelo directo de la línea aérea canadiense WestJet Airlines entre Toronto y Roatán, nueva ruta que aumenta la importancia de esta isla como polo turístico del Caribe de Honduras.
La terminal de aviación civil de Roatán se convertirá en la segunda en recibir la certificación, luego de que en Abril 2019 el Aeropuerto Internacional Ramón Villeda Morales de San Pedro Sula recibiera similar distinción.
Alcances de la certificación
La certificación para el Aeropuerto Roatán prmitirá la apertura de nuevas líneas aéreas. La certificación, que llevó un proceso de cinco fases, es una herramienta para garantizar la seguridad, la regularidad y la eficiencia de las operaciones aéreas. Con la certificación se generarán diversos beneficios, desde la seguridad de las personas usuarias, confianza de su parte, inversión de nuevas aerolíneas que quieran operar en el país y con ello más turismo y empleos, así como mejor ingreso de divisas en un importante aporte a la economía familiar y nacional.
La certificación del Aeropuerto de Roatán beneficiará a la población en general, ya que atraerá nueva inversión al país generando la creación de nuevas empresas de transporte aéreo, y la comunidad usuaria de los servicios aeroportuarios, las entidades gubernamentales y no gubernamentales.

Roatán Airport receives international certification
Juan Manuel Gálvez Airport in Roatán, Bay Islands, in the Republic of Honduras will receive international certification as a safe airfield by the Honduran Civil Aviation Agency (AHAC) with the endorsement of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The airport will receive certification after the first direct flight of the Canadian WestJet Airlines airline between Toronto and Roatan, a new route that increases the importance of this island as a tourist hub of the Caribbean of Honduras.
The civil aviation terminal of Roatán will become the second to receive certification, after in April 2019 the Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport of San Pedro Sula received a similar distinction.
Scope of certification
The certification for Roatán Airport will allow the opening of new airlines. The certification, which led to a five-phase process, is a tool to ensure the safety, regularity, and efficiency of air operations. With the certification, various benefits will be generated, from the safety of the users, confidence on their part, investment of new airlines that want to operate in the country and with it more tourism and jobs, as well as better foreign exchange income is an important contribution to the family and national economy.
The certification of the Roatán Airport will benefit the general population since it will attract new investment to the country generating the creation of new air transport companies, and the user community of airport services, governmental and non-governmental entities.
