Eastern Airlines iniciará operaciones internacionales
Eastern Airlines ha solicitado al Departamento de transporte d(DOT) de Estados Unidos la autorización para el inicio de las operaciones internacionales de pasajeros programadas. La red de serviciios iniciales al exterior incluyen destinos en México, Guyana y Ecuador.
La aerolínea sugiere que darle acceso a estos mercados «es coherente con el interés público y promoverá la muy necesaria competencia al facilitar un nuevo participante en los mercados internacionales». El Departamente de Transporte debe recibir las respuestas que apoyen u opongan a la solicitud más reciente de Eastern antes del 8 Enero 2020.
Eastern Airlines ya posee un Certificado de Conveniencia Pública y necesidad de operar entre Nueva York/JFK y Georgetown/Cheddi Jagan con tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S) y tiene autoridad de exención para operar entre Nueva York/JFK y Guayaquil, en Ecuador, con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S). Según la aplicación, ambas rutas se realizarán bajo un modelo comercial de tarifas bajas como vuelos programados a partir de la 2Q2020. La actual flota de aeronaves para las operaciones serán los Boeing 767-200ER (3), Boeing 767-300ER (5) y B777-200ER (1).

Eastern Airlines will start international operations
Eastern Airlines has requested authorization from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) to initiate scheduled international passenger operations. The network of initial services abroad includes destinations in Mexico, Guyana, and Ecuador.
The airline suggests that giving access to these markets «is consistent with the public interest and will promote much-needed competition by facilitating a new participant in international markets». The Department of Transportation must receive responses that support or oppose Eastern’s most recent request before January 8, 2020.
Eastern Airlines already has a Certificate of Public Convenience and need to operate between New York/JFK and Georgetown/Cheddi Jagan with three weekly frequencies (3Frq/S) and has exemption authority to operate between New York/JFK and Guayaquil, in Ecuador, with two weekly frequencies (2Frq/S). Depending on the application, both routes will be carried out under a commercial model of low fares as scheduled flights from 2Q2020. The current fleet of aircraft for operations will be the Boeing 767-200ER (3), Boeing 767-300ER (5) and B777-200ER (1).
