El Presidente de Kingsland Holdings posee una paticipación del 22% de las acciones de Avianca Holdings. Recientemente, United Airlines eligió a Kingsland como la responsable para manejar a Avianca tras la salida de Germán Efromovich, por lo que Kriete también es el titular de la línea aérea sudamericana. También es accionista de Volaris y posee la empresa MRO Holdings. El objetivo es adquirir Mexicana MRO. La arolínea mexicana Interjet también ha mostrado interés por la compra del taller, hasta ahora no han formalizado sus intenciones.
Proceso de venta
El Taller Mexicana MRO aún pasa por un proceso de evaluación por parte de Banorte, el cual estima estará listo a finales de Enero 2020 para poder iniciar el proceso formal de venta, previa licitación pública, de acuerdo con el reglamento delineado por el fideicomiso de Mexicana MRO. Los estatutos del Fideicomiso establecen que no basta que el Comité Técnico esté de acuerdo, sino que es necesario que se haga un avalúo bancario y se someta a licitación, que es donde podrán surgir ya las propuestas formales de quienes han mostrado interés sin hacerlo público.
El Mexicana MRO emplea actualmente a casi 1.800 trabajadores y cuenta con múltiples certificaciones internacionales otorgadas por el Departamento de Transporte (DOT) y la Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) de los Estados Unidos y de la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea (EASA), entre otros.

Kingsland Holdings has communicated the proposal to acquire Mexicana MRO. The Technical Committee has not accepted the conditions proposed by Roberto Kriete, CEO of Kingsland Holdings, in addition to other requirements that have to be met previously, said Rafael Gutiérrez Barajas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the MRO.
The President of Kingsland Holdings owns a 22% stake in the shares of Avianca Holdings. Recently, United Airlines chose Kingsland as responsible for driving Avianca after Germán Efromovich left, so Kriete is also the owner of the South American airline. He is also a shareholder of Volaris and owns the company MRO Holdings. The objective is to acquire Mexicana MRO. The Mexican airline Interjet has also shown interest in the purchase of the workshop, so far they have not formalized their intentions.
Sale process
The Mexicana MRO Workshop is still going through an evaluation process by Banorte, which it estimates will be ready at the end of January 2020 to be able to start the formal sale process, prior public tender, in accordance with the regulations outlined by the Mexicana trust MRO. The statutes of the Trust establish that it is not enough for the Technical Committee to agree, but it is necessary that a bank appraisal is made and submitted to a tender, which is where the formal proposals of those who have shown interest without making it public may arise.
The Mexicana MRO currently employs almost 1,800 workers and has multiple international certifications granted by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), between others.
