Azul Conecta

Azul Conecta, the regional airline of Azul Linhas Aéreas continues to advance with its network development in Brazil. In the current southern summer season from December 14, 2020 to January 31, 2021, it has made 1,175 flights. The service network of Porto Alegre, Santos Dumont, Congonhas, Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza, allow passengers to arrive on commercial flights to Canela (RS), Torres (RS), Itanhaém (SP), Ubatuba (SP), Paraty (RJ ), Angra dos Reis (RJ), Búzios (RJ), Guarapari (ES) and Jericoacoara (CE). In Rio de Janeiro, the State Government anticipated and ensured the continuity of Azul Conecta flights on a regular basis even after the end of the high summer season. With the agreement in force, Rio will continue to be served by Azul Conecta flights that will be destined for Angra, Paraty and Búzios. There will be 12 weekly flights that will have an interleaved operation between Santos Dumont Airport/SDU and Congonhas Airport/CGH.

“The tax reduction on aviation kerosene is fundamental for the development of regional aviation and the state of Rio understood it. Aviation fuel is one of the main costs that airlines have and represents up to 50% of the operating cost The direct consequence of the ICMS reduction policy, as the state of Rio de Janeiro did, is the increase in capacity in existing markets, the creation of new links between cities and the opening of new bases. Therefore, we can say that Rio anticipated the other states and ensured the permanence of these flights to the Lakes Region and Costa Verde, which will undoubtedly contribute to the economic movement of the state and the cities served by our operations”, says Marcelo Bento Ribeiro, Director of Network Planning and Alliances of Azul Linhas Aéreas.
