SKY de Chile recibe su primer A321NEO en Hamburgo

La aerolínea de bajo coste chilena SKY Airline se encuentra recibiendo su primer Airbus A321NEO. La nueva aeronave ha salido de las instalaciones de ensamblaje de Airbus en Hamburgo, Alemania, el 27 de Julio de 2021 a las 08:55 hs para arribar al Aeropuerto Internacional Santiago de Chile/Arturo Merino Benítez. “ALC se complace en entregar este nuevo avión Airbus A321NEO a SKY y ser el primero en presentar el avión a la aerolínea y país de Chile. Es un privilegio trabajar con SKY, y creemos que este avión de próxima generación contribuirá positivamente a la sostenibilidad de la aerolínea”, Matthew Stevens, Vicepresidente Asistente de Marketing de Air Lease Corporation.

El avión A321NEO despegó de Hamburgo el 27/07 dirigiéndose en su primer escala técnica hacia Keflavik Islandia, luego aterrizar en Jacksonville, Florida, Estados Unidos y en vuelo directo finalmente a Santiago, Chile.

SKY A321NEO

Con el nuevo A321NEO de SKY, se convierte en la primera aerolínea en Chile en operar el tipo. Airbus agrega que SKY es la primera aerolínea en América del Sur en operar el avión en una configuración de cabina de alta densidad. Impulsado por motores CFM LEAP-1A, el A321NEO está configurado para acomodar a 238 pasajeros en un diseño de una sola clase. La capacidad máxima publicada del A321NEO es de 244 pasajeros. Sin embargo, cabe señalar que esta cifra en el sitio web de Airbus tiene un asterisco al lado, señalando que está sujeta a una certificación exitosa. Airbus añade que “el A321NEO tiene un 95% de similitud de fuselaje con la familia A320 de Airbus, encajando perfectamente en la flota existente de SKY de 19 A320NEO. El A321NEO permitirá a SKY ampliar aún más su oferta de rutas en América Latina en un futuro próximo”.

Flota all-NEO

SKY Airline es cliente de Airbus Group desde 2010 convirtiéndose en operador todo Airbus hacia el 2013 y posee una flota de veinte Airbus A320NEO (20). La aerolínea ha actualizado toda su flota a la familia New Engine Option (NEO) en tan solo quince meses. Antes de la transición de la aerolínea a ser una flota totalmente A320NEO, SKY Airline componía una flota de Airbus A319 (13), A320-200 (10) y Boeing 737-200 (22), mientras que desprogramaba su último 737-200 en 2015, consolidando su flota a aeronaves Airbus A320CEO/NEO. En Septiembre de 2018, la aerolínea recibió su primer Airbus A320NEO iniciando el proceso de modernización completo. El CEO de SKY Airline, José Ignacio Dougnac, expresó respecto a la extandarización de la flota de la compañía: “Bueno, antes de la pandemia, estábamos pasando por una transformación realmente importante en términos de ser mucho más amigables de lo que solíamos ser. Y por eso forzamos la transición de la flota. De hecho, logramos cambiar el 100% de la flota y convertirnos en un NEO-operador completo en solo quince meses”.

The Chilean low-cost airline SKY Airline is receiving its first Airbus A321NEO. The new aircraft left the Airbus assembly facilities in Hamburg, Germany, on July 27, 2021 at 8:55 a.m. to arrive at the Santiago de Chile / Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. “ALC is pleased to deliver this new Airbus A321NEO aircraft to SKY and to be the first to present the aircraft to the airline and country of Chile. The A321NEO aircraft took off from Hamburg on 07/27 heading on its first technical stopover to Keflavik Iceland, then landing in Jacksonville, Florida, United States and finally flying direct to Santiago, Chile.

SKY A321NEO

With SKY’s new A321NEO, it becomes the first airline in Chile to operate the type. Airbus adds that SKY is the first airline in South America to operate the aircraft in a high-density cabin configuration. Powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, the A321NEO is configured to accommodate 238 passengers in a single-class layout. The maximum published capacity of the A321NEO is 244 passengers. However, it should be noted that this figure on the Airbus website has an asterisk next to it, indicating that it is subject to successful certification. Airbus adds that “the A321NEO has a 95% fuselage similarity to Airbus’ A320 family, fitting perfectly into SKY’s existing fleet of 19 A320NEO. Fleet all-NEO

SKY Airline has been a customer of Airbus Group since 2010, becoming the entire Airbus operator by 2013 and owns a fleet of twenty Airbus A320NEOs (20). The airline has upgraded its entire fleet to the New Engine Option (NEO) family in just fifteen months. Before the airline’s transition to being a fully A320NEO fleet, SKY Airline comprised a fleet of Airbus A319 (13), A320-200 (10) and Boeing 737-200 (22), while deprogramming its last 737-200 in 2015, consolidating its fleet to Airbus A320CEO/NEO aircraft. In September 2018, the airline received its first Airbus A320NEO starting the full modernization process. The CEO of SKY Airline, José Ignacio Dougnac, expressed regarding the ex-standardization of the company’s fleet: “Well, before the pandemic, we were going through a really important transformation in terms of being much friendlier than we used to be. And that’s why we forced the transition of the fleet. In fact, we managed to change 100% of the fleet and become a full NEO-operator in just fifteen months”.

El primer Boeing 737-8 200 MAX Gamechanger de Malta Air ha sido entregado este Martes 27 de Julio de 2021. Malta Air y Ryanair Group continúan consolidando el mercado low cost en la isla mediterránea. Estos nuevos aviones transportan un 4% más de pasajeros que los 737-800 y reducen el consumo de combustible en un 16% por asiento, reducen las emisiones de CO2 en una cantidad similar y reducen las emisiones de ruido en un 40%. Permitirán al Grupo Ryanair desarrollar sus vuelos de gran servicio y respetuosos con el medio ambiente directos a Malta, ya que lidera la recuperación de la aviación europea.

La nueva aeronave arribó a la Isla de Malta para la ceremonia de entrega donde participaron el Ministro de Transporte, Ian Borg, el Director Ejecutivo de Malta Air, David O’Brien, y el Director General de Aviación Civil, Charles Pace. Ian Borg, expresó: “Doy la bienvenida a este nuevo avión Boeing 737-8 200; el primero, esperamos, de muchos a Malta. Malta Air‘s first Boeing 737-8 200 MAX Gamechanger was delivered this Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Malta Air and Ryanair Group continue to consolidate the low-cost market on the Mediterranean island. These new aircraft carry 4% more passengers than the 737-800s and reduce fuel consumption by 16% per seat, reduce CO2 emissions by a similar amount and reduce noise emissions by 40%. They will enable the Ryanair Group to develop its high-service and environmentally friendly direct flights to Malta, as it leads the recovery of European aviation.

Air Austral ha recibido el primer Airbus A220 actualizando la flota de mercado regional. Es una aerolínea francesa con base en Saint-Denis, Reunión, Francia. Efectúa vuelos regulares y no regulares, siendo su principal base de operaciones el Aeropuerto Roland Garros/St Denis.

Air Austral recibió este Martes 27/07 el primero de tres Airbus A220-300 (3) solicitados al constructor europeo. La aerolínea de África se ha convertido recientemente en el primer operador francés de la familia Airbus A220. La noticia arriba tras la entrega del primer avión de la aerolínea de este tipo, y un día después de que Air France revelara que su primer Airbus A220 había salido del taller de pintura en Mirabel, Canadá.

El primer avión A220-300 con S/N: 55106 ha sido ordenado el 14 de Octubre de 2019, y tomó su primer vuelo el 28 de Enero de 2021. Ha recibido registro francés F-OLAV. Airbus ha comunicado que entregará a la aerolínea el segundo y tercer A220 en pedido en los próximos días, con S/N: 55116 y S/N: 55125. Actualmente, la aerolínea insular sirve a diecisiete destinos en veinte rutas a once países.

Air Austral has received the first Airbus A220 updating the regional market fleet. It is a French airline based in Saint-Denis, Reunion, France. It operates regular and non-scheduled flights, its main base being the Roland Garros/St Denis Airport.

Air Austral received this Tuesday 27/07 the first of three Airbus A220-300 (3) requested from the European manufacturer. The African airline has recently become the first French operator in the Airbus A220 family. The news comes up after the delivery of the airline’s first aircraft of its kind, and a day after Air France revealed that its first Airbus A220 had left the paint shop in Mirabel, Canada.

The first A220-300 aircraft with S/N: 55106 has been ordered on October 14, 2019, and took its first flight on January 28, 2021. It has received French F-OLAV registration. Airbus has announced that it will deliver the second and third A220 on order to the airline in the coming days, with S/N: 55116 and S/N: 55125. Currently, the island airline serves seventeen destinations on twenty routes to eleven countries.

Los talibanes han anunciado la amenaza latente de derribar aviones de pasajeros como el desastre del vuelo MH-017 de Malaysia Airlines, mientras Estados Unidos prohíbe los vuelos de bajo nivel sobre el espacio aéreo de la República de Afganistán, según un comunicado de prensa oficial de este Martes 27/07. La medida se produce mientras los militantes continúan las acciones bélicas en todo el país tras la salida de las tropas estadounidenses y británicas.

La Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) dijo que había impuesto nuevas restricciones de vuelo sobre Afganistán para las aerolíneas estadounidenses en respuesta a la evolución de la situación de seguridad. En una orden de emergencia, los vuelos que operan a menos de 26.000 pies están prohibidos en la región de información de vuelo de Kabul, que cubre en gran medida el Afganistán. La FAA declaró que el riesgo “planteado por las actividades extremistas/militantes” hacía necesaria la orden.

Los vuelos desde y hacia el Aeropuerto Internacional Hamid Karzai de Kabul están exentos de las nuevas normas. Los aviones militares estadounidenses también pueden descender por debajo de la nueva altura de seguridad mientras sus aviones llevan a cabo ataques aéreos en apoyo de las fuerzas asediadas del gobierno afgano.

El recuerdo del vuelo trágico del MH-017 de Malaysia Airlines de Amsterdam a Kuala Lumpur fue derribado el 17 de Julio de 2014, matando a 298 personas mientras sobrevolaban una zona de guerra durante los combates en el este de Ucrania. Las fuerzas gubernamentales estaban luchando contra los separatistas rusos en ese momento y el Boeing 777-200ER fue alcanzado por un misil tierra-aire Buk de origen ruso.

Decenas de civiles han sido sacados de sus hogares y ejecutados por los talibanes mientras el grupo terrorista sigue asediando Kandahar. A medida que los talibanes avanzaban hacia la ciudad, miles de familias aterrorizadas se dirigieron hacia el norte, hacia Kabul, o encontraron refugio en campamentos de refugiados improvisados. The measure comes as the militants continue the military actions throughout the country after the departure of US and British troops.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it had imposed new flight restrictions over Afghanistan for US airlines in response to the evolving security situation. In an emergency order, flights operating below 26,000 feet are banned in the Kabul flight information region, which largely covers Afghanistan. The FAA stated that the risk “posed by extremist/militant activities” made the order necessary.

Flights to and from Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport are exempt from the new rules. US military aircraft can also descend below the new safe height as their aircraft carry out airstrikes in support of besieged Afghan government forces.

The memory of the tragic flight of Malaysia Airlines MH-017 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down on July 17, 2014, killing 298 people while flying over a war zone during the fighting in eastern Ukraine. Government forces were fighting Russian separatists at the time and the Boeing 777-200ER was hit by a Russian-origin Buk surface-to-air missile.

While the United States has vowed to withdraw its troops, it has launched a series of airstrikes, but officials say there is no change in policy. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has said Afghan forces must regroup and defend key points to prevent the Taliban from advancing before trying to regain lost territory.

APLA analiza medidas de fuerza en la Provincia de Chubut

El Sindicato de la Asociación de Pilotos de Líneas Aéreas (APLA) ha anunciado posibles medidas de fuerza por dos cesantías que se hicieron efectivas jornadas atrás, una de ellas contra un trabajador que es delegado del sindicato aeronáutico APLA que podrían determinar la interrupción de los vuelos en la Provincia de Chubut en la Región Patagonia. Los pilotos no descartan incluso que el conflicto pueda escalar a nivel nacional. El Presidente de APLA, Pablo Biró, ha precisado que uno de los despedidos es delegado de la Asociación. El representante de los pilotos ha manifestado en defensa de los pilotos que se desempeñan en la Dirección de Aeronáutica de Chubut, advirtiendo que tal organización se encuentra en estado de alerta y pronta a adoptar medidas gremiales que podrán afectar la regularidad de los vuelos a la provincia patagónica. El comunicado oficial emitido en la noche de este Lunes 26/07 remite a las denuncias del sindicato sobre lo que consideró un “proceso de persecución y despidos. Mientras que días atrás se inició la persecución sindical y laboral contra los pilotos afiliados a APLA, despidiéndolos y suplantándolos con pilotos de menor licencia”, al tiempo que reclamaron la urgente reincorporación de dos pilotos que fueran cesanteados.

Entre las medidas que podría definir ese sindicato sobre la situación descripta no se descartó la eventual afectación de vuelos en la provincia o hasta alcanzarlos a nivel nacional. “Esperemos que se revierta esta inmoralidad, que el Gobernador tenga un instructor privado volando estos aviones, porque hay un límite”, remarcó el Secretario General de APLA apuntando al mandatario patagónico Mariano Arcioni.

México busca recuperar CAT1

México firma convenio con EEUU para recuperar Categoría 1

México ha firmado un convenio con la Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) de Estados Unidos para recuperar el grado de su seguridad aérea, degradada a Categoría 2 en Mayo pasado, informó este Domingo 25/07 la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT). La Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes reiteró que es prioridad la recuperación de la Categoría 1 (CAT1) para establecer los nieves de seguridad idóneos anteriores a la pandemia.

La FAA anunció el 25 de Mayo de 2021 que rebajaría la calificación a México de Categoría 1 a Categoría 2 en seguridad aérea, con lo cual prohíbe a los transportistas mexicanos ofrecer nuevos servicios o rutas en Estados Unidos. Según su evaluación, el país latinoamericano no cumple con los estándares de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI), la entidad de las Naciones Unidas que regula la aeronáutica mundial. La medida también impide a las aerolíneas estadounidenses comercializar y vender boletos con aerolíneas asociadas mexicanas, aunque no afecta el servicio existente de las aerolíneas mexicanas a Estados Unidos. El Gobierno de los Estados Unidos había expresado sus preocupaciones de seguridad con respecto al sistema de aviación en México. La FAA “identificó varias áreas de incumplimiento de los estándares mínimos de seguridad de la OACI”. La OACI es la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional, un organismo asociado con las Naciones Unidas que conecta a los reguladores de la aviación de todo el mundo.

Los expertos de la FAA “realizarán visitas a nuestro país que comenzarán el próximo mes de Agosto, a través de las cuales proporcionarán la asistencia técnica necesaria”, anunció la Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil (AFAC) de la SCT en un comunicado. La dependencia dijo que la Enmienda al Memorándum de Entendimiento (MoU) entró en vigor desde el Viernes 23/07. La SCT detalló que los trabajos durante la visita de los expertos estadounidenses implican “una revisión técnica, para determinar si la supervisión de la seguridad operacional a cargo de la AFAC cumple con los estándares mínimos”.

El Gobierno mexicano señaló que los especialistas darán a la autoridad aeronáutica de México un informe de sus hallazgos y sus recomendaciones de mejora. La Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes reiteró que es prioridad la recuperación de la Categoría 1, en el menor tiempo posible, por lo que no se han detenido “bajo ninguna circunstancia las acciones de mejora que permitan solventar lo observado por la FAA”.

Actualmente, las tres compañías aéreas mexicanas cumplen con los estándares de seguridad de la Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (IATA), mientras que trabajan en conjunto para solucionar lo antes posible esta situación. “Aseguramos a nuestros pasajeros que, cuando vuelan con pilotos de la Asociación ASPA, viajan con pilotos que han cumplido los más altos estándares internacionales en materia de seguridad”, señalaron. Asimismo, ASPA dijo que pone a disposición de la AFAC su experiencia, conocimiento y expertos en materia técnica para ayudar en la solución de los hallazgos que existan en la auditoría.

Aeroméxico mencionó en un comunicado que sus operaciones desde y hacia Estados Unidos no tendrán afectaciones. Además de que la seguridad de sus pasajeros es la máxima prioridad y por ello continuará operando bajo los más altos estándares internacionales. “Todos los boletos, reservaciones, vouchers electrónicos, Puntos Premier y beneficios del programa de lealtad, continuarán vigentes […] Estamos en la mejor disposición de apoyar a las autoridades aeronáuticas de nuestro país para que recuperen la Categoría 1 en beneficio de la industria”, expresaron desde la aerolínea.

Bruselas modifica reglas de reducción slots para aerolíneas

La Comisión Europea (CE) ha anunciado este 23/07 la propuesta de enmendar la regulación de slots y extendió las reglas de alivio que se adoptaron en Febrero de 2021. A medida que la industria de la aviación comienza a recuperarse del impacto de la crisis de Covid-19, la Comisión Europea sigue determinada a mantener la relajación de las reglas ordinarias de asignación de franjas horarias para las aerolíneas. El alivio se ampliará a la próxima temporada de programación de invierno boreal europeo, que se extiende desde el 31 de Octubre de 2021 hasta el 27 de Marzo de 2022. En lugar de la obligación ordinaria de utilizar al menos el 80% de una serie de slots determinados para conservar derechos históricos de esta última, las aerolíneas solo podrán utilizar el 50% de una serie de slots determinados.

La Comisaria de Transporte, Adina Vălean, dijo que “estoy convencida de que una tasa de utilización de slots del 50% es adecuada para que todas las partes interesadas garanticen un uso eficiente de la capacidad del aeropuerto y al mismo tiempo beneficien a los consumidores. Aún afrontamos incertidumbres en la crisis del Covid-19 y la excepción de ‘no uso justificado de slots’, cuando las medidas impuestas por el estado obstaculizan gravemente la capacidad de los pasajeros para viajar, permanece vigente. Para hacer frente a circunstancias futuras imprevistas sin bloquear indebidamente el aeropuerto”.

IATA, en contra

La Asociación de Transporte Aéreo Internacional (IATA) ha calificado la decisión de la Comisión Europea de establecer el umbral de uso de slots de invierno en el 50% como fuera de contacto con la realidad y argumentó que la CE había ignorado el consejo y la evidencia presentados por los estados miembros de la Unión Europea y la industria de las aerolíneas, que habían defendido un umbral mucho más bajo. “El anuncio de la Comunidad Europea significa que, de Noviembre a Abril, las aerolíneas que operan en aeropuertos con slots regulados deben utilizar al menos la mitad de todas las series que tienen. No hay ningún alivio para devolver los espacios al comienzo de la temporada, lo que permite a las aerolíneas ajustar su horario a la demanda realista o permitir que otras aerolíneas operen. Además, la regla sobre fuerza mayor, por la cual la regla de los slots se suspende si existen circunstancias excepcionales relacionadas con la pandemia de Covid, se ha desactivado para las operaciones dentro de la Unión Europea. El resultado de estos cambios será restringir la capacidad de las aerolíneas para operar con la agilidad necesaria para responder a una demanda impredecible y que cambia rápidamente, lo que genera vuelos innecesarios y que afectan al medio ambiente. También debilitará aún más la estabilidad financiera de la industria y obstaculizará la recuperación de la red mundial de transporte aéreo”, ha dicho la IATA.

Reactivating routes

The airline renewed its domestic flight schedule and began operating with more frequencies to the main destinations in Argentina during the month of July 2021 and will add new destinations in August, reaching some 15 domestic routes that will be operational to fly with these special prices, some of them connect different parts of the country without going through Buenos Aires. “So far, JetSmart carried more than 8 million passengers in the region. At JetSmart we seek to increase connectivity in the country, and we believe that this is a good way to celebrate it, further facilitating air travel with the goal of reaching 100 million passengers by 2028”, says Darío Ratinoff, JetSmart Commercial Manager.
