American Airlines-IndiGo firman acuerdo código compartido
American Airlines ha anunciado un acuerdo de código compartido con la aerolínea india de bajo costo IndiGo que ofrece a los clientes una conectividad más amplia a la India. La medida está en línea con el objetivo de American Airlines de lanzar nuevos vuelos que conecten Estados Unidos y la India. Según el acuerdo, American Airlines colocará su código en veintinueve rutas nacionales de IndiGo en India. Esto ofrecería a los clientes de American Airlines acceso a las nuevas rutas desde sus hubs en Bangalore y Delhi. La aerolínea americana está programada para lanzar un nuevo servicio entre Nueva York y Delhi el 31 de Octubre de 2021 y entre Seattle y Bangalore el 4 de Enero de 2022.
Sujeto a las aprobaciones de los Gobiernos de Estados Unidos e India, se espera que el acuerdo de código compartido entre en acción el próximo mes en adelante. Después del lanzamiento, los miembros del programa de lealtad AAdvantage de American Airlines podrán ganar millas cuando viajen en vuelos operados por IndiGo que tengan el código del primero. Los viajeros de cabina insignia de American Airlines en las rutas Nueva York-Delhi o Seattle-Bengaluru tendrán el privilegio de acceder a las salas VIP asociadas de IndiGo en sus ciudades de origen.

American Airlines-IndiGo sign codeshare agreement
American Airlines has announced a codeshare agreement with low-cost Indian airline IndiGo that offers customers more extensive connectivity to India. The move is in line with American Airlines’ goal of launching new flights connecting the United States and India. Under the agreement, American Airlines will place its code on 29 IndiGo domestic routes in India. This would offer American Airlines customers access to the new routes from its hubs in Bangalore and Delhi. The American airline is scheduled to launch a new service between New York and Delhi on October 31, 2021 and between Seattle and Bangalore on January 4, 2022.
Subject to approvals by the US and Indian governments, the codeshare agreement is expected to go into action next month onwards. After launch, American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program members will be able to earn miles when they travel on IndiGo-operated flights that have the first code. American Airlines flagship cabin travelers on the New York-Delhi or Seattle-Bengaluru routes will have the privilege of accessing IndiGo’s partner lounges in their home cities.
