Iniciará operaciones próximamente
El nuevo operador aéreo Antigua Airways iniciará próximamente las operaciones aerocomerciales. El histórico primer vuelo directo entre Antigua y África Occidental está ahora a menos de una semana de distancia, con el país preparándose para observar el inicio de los vuelos en el día de su independencia, el 1 de Noviembre de 2022.
La nueva aerolínea es producto de una asociación entre el Gobierno insular y la imprenta con sede en Nigeria, Marvelous Mike Press Limited. El Primer Ministro de la isla caribeña, Gaston Browne, confirmó la noticia.
La nueva aerolínea ha sido promocionada por el gobierno como un importante golpe de inversión para Antigua y Barbuda, con el enlace directo a África Occidental que tiene el potencial de un beneficio económico significativo. El operador también desempeñará un papel en el impulso de la conectividad regional, a través de una asociación aún por finalizar con la aerolínea regional LIAT Airlines.
La Autoridad de Turismo de Antigua y Barbuda (ABTA) está planeando una celebración para el vuelo histórico. Mientras que Marvelous Mike está financiando las operaciones de la aerolínea, Antigua y Barbuda se inclina para recibir el 20 por ciento de las ganancias.
La aerolínea Antigua Airways ofrecerá desde Saint John’s a Lagos, Accra en Ghana y Toronto, Canadá, tres frecuencias semanales (3Frq/S). Para el inicio de las operaciones en su red de servicios empleará un (1) Boeing 767-300ER, configurado con 16 asientos de Clase Ejecutiva y 251 de Clase Económica.

Will start operations soon
The new air operator Antigua Airways will soon start commercial air operations. The historic first direct flight between Antigua and West Africa is now less than a week away, with the country preparing to observe the start of flights on its Independence Day, November 1, 2022.
The new airline is the product of a partnership between the Island Government and the Nigerian-based printing house, Marvelous Mike Press Limited. The Prime Minister of the Caribbean Island, Gaston Browne, confirmed the news.
The new airline has been touted by the government as a major investment coup for Antigua and Barbuda, with the direct link to West Africa having the potential for significant economic benefit. The carrier will also play a role in boosting regional connectivity, through a yet-to-be-finalized partnership with regional carrier LIAT Airlines.
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) is planning a celebration for the historic flight. While Marvelous Mike is funding the airline’s operations, Antigua and Barbuda is tipped to receive 20 percent of the profits.
The airline Antigua Airways will offer from Saint John’s to Lagos, Accra in Ghana and Toronto, Canada, three weekly frequencies (3Frq/S). For the start of operations in its service network, it will use one (1) Boeing 767-300ER, configured with 16 Business Class seats and 251 Economy Class seats.
