Xiamen Airlines lanzó el nuevo servicio directo entre la ciudad de Shenzhen, centro de alta tecnología de China y Seattle, EE.UU. Es el primer servicio internacional directo entre Shenzhen y los EE.UU.

Casi dos años después del día del primer vuelo comercial de Xiamen con el Boeing 787 de Fuzhou a Beijing se logra este hito. La aerolínea es un cliente fiel de Boeing y opera la mayor flota de aviones del fabricante estadounidense en China. La llegada del vuelo fue seguida por una ceremonia con funcionarios de la línea aérea, en el aeropuerto de Tacoma y el Puerto de Seattle.

Además, para completar la construcción de una red que se extiende más allá de Seattle, la aerolínea ha firmado un acuerdo de colaboración con Alaska Airlines que permite a los pasajeros que viajan a Seattle a través de Xiamen Airlines, viajar a los 61 destinos principales y secundarios de Alaska Airlines en EE.UU., Canadá y México.
