WestJet presentó hoy oficialmente su primer avión Boeing 737 MAX 8, uno de los 50 previstos para su entrega en los próximos cuatro años

NUEVA INCORPORACIÓN DE WESTJET AIRLINES, BOEING 737-8 MAX

El avión, que ha estado en el hangar de WestJet en Calgary desde el 29 de septiembre para inspecciones, entrenamientos y vuelos de prueba, es el primero de 50 Boeing 737 MAX programado para ser entregado hasta 2021. Se espera que el avión entre oficialmente en servicio el 9 de noviembre de 2017 , cuando opera de Calgary a Toronto .

El Boeing 737-8 MAX es propulsado por los motores LEAP-1B de CFM International, diseñados para reducir el consumo de combustible y reducir el ruido. En general, la aeronave es un 14 por ciento más eficiente en el consumo de combustible que la actual 737 Next-Generations y tiene una huella de ruido operacional reducida de hasta un 40 por ciento a través de la tecnología de motor silencioso.

Los Boeing 737-8 MAX de WestJet cuentan con una sola cabina con 174 asientos. Su configuración de asientos consta de tres filas de Plus además de otras 11 filas con un tono de asiento de 34 pulgadas. Además de mejorar la experiencia de WestJet, el avión viene con el nuevo Sky Interior de Boeing, que cuenta con características como iluminación LED personalizable y nuevos altavoces para mejorar el sonido y la claridad de los anuncios a bordo.

La flota actual de WestJet consta de 117 Boeing Next-Generation 737, cuatro Boeing 767 y 42 Bombardier Q400 NextGen. WestJet también ha firmado un acuerdo de compra definitivo para 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners con el primer avión que se espera sea entregado en enero de 2019. WestJet today officially unveiled its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, one of 50 planned for delivery in the next four years

The plane, which has been at the WestJet hangar in Calgary since September 29 for inspections, trainings and test flights, is the first of 50 Boeing 737 MAX scheduled to be delivered until 2021. The aircraft is expected to officially enter service on November 9, 2017, when it operates from Calgary to Toronto.

The Boeing 737-8 MAX is powered by CFM International’s LEAP-1B engines, designed to reduce fuel consumption and reduce noise. Overall, the aircraft is 14 percent more fuel-efficient than the current Next-Generations 737 and has a reduced operational noise footprint of up to 40 percent through quiet engine technology.

WestJet Boeing 737-8 MAX has a single cabin with 174 seats. Its seating configuration consists of three Plus rows plus another 11 rows with a 34-inch seat tone. In addition to enhancing the WestJet experience, the aircraft comes with Boeing’s new Sky Interior, which features features like customizable LED lighting and new speakers to enhance the sound and clarity of on-board announcements.

WestJet’s current fleet consists of 117 Boeing Next-Generation 737s, four Boeing 767s and 42 Bombardier Q400 NextGen.
