Austrian Airlines contratará 100 nuevos pilotos de la insolvente aerolínea Air Berlin

Una selección rápida especial está diseñada para acelerar la reubicación de pilotos. Los solicitantes deberán comprometerse a trabajar para Austrian Airlines por al menos tres años. La oferta se dirige a los pilotos que han trabajado activamente con airberlin en los últimos seis meses y que han sido revalidados en los últimos 12 meses. Además la aerolínea está ampliando su cartera de nuevos pilotos «ad initios», aquellos que ingresan por primera vez a una línea aérea.

La flota comprende Boeing: 5 Boeing 777, 6 Boeing 767, Airbus: 6 A321, 23 A320, 7 A319, Bombardier: 2 CRJ-900, 18 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, Embraer: 17 Embraer E195-200 y Fokker: 5 Fokker 100, 2 Fokker 70. Austrian aIrlines tiene planificado la ampliación de aeronaves a su flota.

Airberlin en agosto pasado sufrió la retirada de su principal accionista, Etihad Airways, que se convirtió en el mayor accionista del operador alemán en 2012 cuando compró una participación del 29,2%, retiró ahora las garantías financieras.

En un acuerdo anunciado el 12 de octubre 2017, Lufthansa espera tomar más de 81 aviones airberlin, emplear a 3,000 personas e invertir un total de € 1,500 millones ($ 1,800 millones) o € 500,000 por trabajo ahorrado.
