Qantas Airlines incorporó su aeronave más moderna, el Boeing 787-9

Qantas Airlines, de Australia, presentó su primer Boeing 787-9 el lunes durante una ceremonia en la fábrica de Boeing en Everett, Washington.

El avión, llamado «Great Southern Land» y pintado con la librea recién actualizada del transportista, es el primero de los ocho Dreamliners programados para entregarse a Qantas Airlines a fines de 2018. Qantas utillizará este avión en sus rutas entre Los Ángeles y Melbourne, Australia, comenzando sus operaciones el 15 de Diciembre de 2017.

Una segunda ruta desde Perth a Londres, está programada para comenzar en Marzo de 2018 y será el primer enlace aéreo directo que Australia haya tenido con Europa. El nuevo Boeing 787-9 es una aeronave que enlazará por primera vez Australia con Reino Unido sin escalas. Los pasajeros de Qantas Airlines que viajan desde Australia a Londres tenían que efectuar una escala obligatoria en Singapur o Dubai. Ahora con el nuevo Boeing 787-9 Qantas Airlines podrá unir Oceanía con Europa non-stop por primera vez en su historia.

El alcance más largo del 787 es un claro «cambio de juego» para el operador con problemas geográficos, dijo el CEO de Qantas Group, Alan Joyce, en la ceremonia. «Tomar la entrega de un nuevo tipo de avión es siempre un hito importante para una aerolínea», dijo Joyce. «Desde la distancia que puede volar, hasta la atención al detalle que hemos incluido en el diseño de la cabina, cambiará la forma en que las personas esperan de los viajes internacionales».

Qantas Airlines, Australia, introduced its first Boeing 787-9 on Monday at a ceremony at the Boeing plant in Everett, Washington.

The plane, named «Great Southern Land» and painted with the carrier’s newly updated livery, is the first of the eight Dreamliners scheduled to be delivered to Qantas Airlines in late 2018. Qantas will use this aircraft on routes between Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia, commencing operations on December 15, 2017.

A second route from Perth to London is scheduled to begin in March 2018 and will be Australia’s first direct air link to Europe. The new Boeing 787-9 is an aircraft that will link Australia to the United Kingdom for the first time nonstop. Qantas Airlines passengers traveling from Australia to London had to make a mandatory stopover in Singapore or Dubai. Now with the Boeing 787-9 Qantas Airlines will be able to join Oceania with Europe non-stop for the first time in its history.

The 787’s longest reach is a clear «game changer» for the operator with geographical issues, Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said at the ceremony. «Taking delivery of a new type of aircraft is always an important milestone for an airline,» said Joyce. «From the distance you can fly, to the attention to detail that we have included in the cab design, will change the way people expect from international travel.» A\W
