Air Mauritius celebra el 50° aniversario incorporando primer Airbus A350-900

Air Mauritius, la aerolínea nacional de Mauricio, celebró su 50 aniversario con la entrega de su primer Airbus A350. El A350-900 alquilado a AerCap, está configurado en un diseño de dos clases con 28 asientos en Business y 298 en Economy, según informa Airbus.

Air Mauritius fue establecida el 14 de junio de 1967 en un principio como agente de manejo. Dio sus primeros pasos como aerolínea en agosto de 1972 con una aeronave Piper PA-31 Navajo de seis asientos, alquilada a Air Madagascar en un vuelo desde Mauricio a Réunion. Las operaciones internacionales empezaron en 1977.

Otros cinco A350-900 se entregarán a Air Mairitius, cuatro adquiridos directamente por Airbus y otro arrendado por AerCap. La aerolínea ha bautizado a su primer A350-900 bajo el nombre de «Le Morne Brabant», una montaña local que figura en la lista de la UNESCO como patrimonio de la humanidad.

La actual flota de aviones de Air Mauritius:A340-300 (6), A330-200 (2) y A319-100 (2), ATR 72-500 (3) y helicópteros Bell 206 (2). Tiene dos aviones Airbus A330-900NEO encomendado a Air Lease.

El avión se une a la flota de Air Mauritius como parte de un arrendamiento de AerCap. El presidente y director comercial de la empresa de arrendamiento, Philip Scruggs, admitió que «AerCap se enorgullece en entregar el primero de dos nuevos aviones A350 a Air Mauritius». Scruggs también afirmó que el A350-900 es el «pilar principal» en la estrategia del transportista para vuelos de larga distancia. «Deseamos a todos nuestros amigos y socios de Air Mauritius desde hace mucho tiempo que continúen haciendo crecer sus negocios».

Hasta la fecha, Airbus ha registrado un total de 858 pedidos en firme para la familia del A350 en 45 clientes en todo el mundo.

Air Mauritius, the national airline of Mauritius, celebrated its 50th anniversary with the delivery of its first Airbus A350. The A350-900 rented to AerCap, is configured in a design of two classes with 28 seats in Business and 298 in Economy, according to Airbus.

Air Mauritius was established on June 14, 1967 initially as a handling agent. It took its first steps as an airline in August 1972 with a Piper PA-31 Navajo six seat aircraft, rented to Air Madagascar on a flight from Mauritius to Réunion. International operations began in 1977.

Another five A350-900 will be delivered to Air Mairitius, four acquired directly by Airbus and another leased by AerCap. The airline has named its first A350-900 under the name «Le Morne Brabant», a local mountain listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

The current fleet of Air Mauritius aircraft: A340-300 (6), A330-200 (2) and A319-100 (2), ATR 72-500 (3) and Bell 206 (2) helicopters. It has two Airbus A330-900NEO aircraft commissioned from Air Lease.

The aircraft joins the Air Mauritius fleet as part of an AerCap lease. The president and commercial director of the leasing company, Philip Scruggs, admitted that «AerCap is proud to deliver the first of two new A350s to Air Mauritius.» Scruggs also stated that the A350-900 is the «mainstay» in the carrier’s long-haul carrier strategy. «We wish all our friends and partners of Air Mauritius for a long time to continue to grow their businesses.»

To date, Airbus has registered a total of 858 firm orders for the A350 family of 45 customers worldwide. A \ W
