Aerolíneas esperan cambio gobierno venezolano para cobrar sus dividendos

Por la profunda crisis económica que atraviesa la República de Venezuela y el retiro de las aerolíneas internacionales, el Gobierno venezolano les ha retenido los dividendos a las compañías aéreas se fueron acumulando. Las compañías aéreas no podían por ley repatriar los dólares por boletos vendidos en bolívares, en medio de un estricto control de cambio vigente desde 2003.

Las aerolíneas internacionales esperan un cambio de gobierno en Venezuela para poder cobrar unos US$ 4.000 millones de dólares que el estado venezolano les adeuda, dijo el martes un directivo de la Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (IATA). “En este momento es tiempo perdido recuperar ese dinero. Esperamos que en un futuro, cuando haya un cambio de administración, nos permita tener el diálogo de cómo recuperar ese dinero”, dijo el Vicepresidente Regional para las Américas de la IATA, Peter Cerdá, en Ciudad de Panamá. “No hay mucha posibilidad que vuelvan las compañías que operaban […] todavía el gobierno venezolano tiene una deuda con la industria y hasta que eso no tome su lugar va a ser muy difícil que veamos mejoras”, explicó el ejecutivo de la IATA, que representa a alrededor de 240 aerolíneas en el mundo. Las aerolíneas imposibilitadas de repatriar sus dividendos sumados a los problemas de seguridad han levantado sus escalas en Caracas: American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa, Latam Airlines entre otras salieron de Venezuela, quedando un reducido número de compañías en operaciones.
