Airbus entrega el primer A350-100 con pantalla táctil

Airbus ha entregado el primer A350-1000 con pantallas táctiles de cabina a China Eastern Airlines tras la certificación europea en Noviembre 2019. Airbus ofrece a las aerolíneas la opción de adaptar tres pantallas en el A350-900 y A350-1000 a pantallas táctiles, lo que permitirá el flujo de fluido alrededor de la cabina de una manera intuitiva. Están disponibles para adaptarse las dos pantallas más externas, generalmente responsables de la información electrónica de la bolsa de vuelo, y la más baja de las dos pantallas centrales, que actúan como una pantalla multifunción. La nueva característica está disponible para las aerolíneas como un extra opcional y presenta eficiencias operativas mejoradas, mayor interacción de la tripulación, simetría de la cabina y gestión de información más fluida. A pesar de ser un enfoque más fluido para la interacción de datos, la función no reemplaza la unidad de control de teclado-cursor existente (KCCU) que se encuentra en el A350, así como en el A380.

“Airbus continúa marcando las tendencias de la industria en el diseño de la cabina del avión con estas nuevas pantallas táctiles interactivas en el A350. Con nuestro socio Thales estamos muy orgullosos de llevar esta tecnología a nuestros clientes, para mejorar las operaciones de sus tripulaciones aéreas”, expresó Patrick Piedrafita, Jefe del Programa Airbus A350 XWB.

Airbus obtuvo la certificación para el extra opcional por parte de la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea en noviembre, luego de extensas pruebas en su plataforma de prueba A350-1000. Los pilotos que vuelan A350 con pantallas táctiles instaladas podrán usar gestos comunes que se encuentran en teléfonos y tabletas, como pellizcar el zoom y la panorámica. Además, la pantalla táctil permite que ambos pilotos interactúen con la pantalla central inferior simultáneamente; mientras que con el KCCU, solo un piloto a la vez podría interactuar con él cuando se conecta con esa pantalla específica. Airbus dice que han asegurado alrededor de 20 clientes para la función.

Airbus has delivered the first A350-1000 with cockpit touch screens to China Eastern Airlines after European certification in November 2019. Airbus offers airlines the option of adapting three screens on the A350-900 and A350-1000 to touch screens, which will allow fluid flow around the cabin in an intuitive way. They are available to adapt the two most external screens, generally responsible for the electronic information of the flight bag, and the lower of the two central screens, which act as a multifunction screen. The new feature is available to airlines as an optional extra and features improved operational efficiencies, increased crew interaction, cabin symmetry, and more fluid information management. Despite being a more fluid approach to data interaction, the function does not replace the existing keyboard-cursor control unit (KCCU) found in the A350, as well as in the A380.

With our partner Thales we are very proud to bring this technology to our customers, to improve the operations of their aircrews”, said Patrick Piedrafita, Head of the Airbus A350 XWB Program.

Airbus was certified for the optional extra by the European Aviation Safety Agency in November, after extensive testing on its A350-1000 test platform. Pilots flying A350 with touch screens installed can use common gestures found on phones and tablets, such as pinching the zoom and panning. In addition, the touch screen allows both pilots to interact with the lower center screen simultaneously; while with the KCCU, only one pilot at a time could interact with it when connected to that specific screen. Airbus says they have secured around 20 customers for the function.
