Aeroflot Russian Airlines ha recibido cinco SSJ-100 de un lote de 100 órdenes

The Vnesheconombank Bank (VEB) backed by the State of Russia for subsequent delivery to the flag carrier Aeroflot Russian Airlines with the start of the first five units of Sukhoi SSJ-100 aircraft. Sign agreement

Although Aeroflot signed the main agreement almost 16 months ago, it seemed unable, or unwilling, to obtain the necessary funds. But at the airline’s supervisory board meeting on October 24, 2019, the directors approved the purchase of the first five planes. The Aeroflot board also decided to launch a competition among financiers for the right to structure or finance the agreement. However, after independent financial groups showed no interest in supporting the transaction, the Kremlin ordered Russia’s largest financial institutions to raise the money under the leadership of VEB. In chairing the supervisory board of VEB on October 30, 2019, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the company to acquire the 100 SSJ-100 in order to lease them to Aeroflot. “This project is undoubted of national importance, as it is intended for further development of local aircraft manufacturing and the regional route network”, Medvedev explained at the time.

In response to this call, VEB President Igor Shuvalov said his institution is unlikely to finance the entire agreement alone. Instead, you can create a group of investors and also use funds from the Russian state budget. Shuvalov further explained: “Fundraising for the acquisition of 100 Sukhoi Superjet for the subsequent lease to our carrier, Aeroflot, has been the most important [and] transaction, however, the most difficult. VEB reportedly requested that the Russian government-issue certain guarantees or that other forms of state support be provided, and have now been secured. Подписать соглашение
