La Autoridad de Aviación Civil (CAA) del Reino Unido ha confirmado la aprobación regulatoria de la aerolínea estadounidense JetBlue Airways para iniciar vuelos transatlánticos provenientes de estados Unidos. The new purchase is DAE’s second investment in the 737 MAX in the last year. In the third quarter of 2020, the lessor signed an agreement with American Airlines to purchase and lease 18 new 737-8 aircraft. Since the agreement, the lessor has delivered seventeen of the planes to the US airline. DAE previously completed a similar purchase-lease agreement with Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aéreas for five 737-8s.

Latinoamérica reporta otra depresión tráfico en Febrero 2021
La Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA) reportó este 19/04 otra caída en el tráfico aéreo de las aerolíneas que operan en América Latina y el Caribe con apenas 15.5 millones de pasajeros en Febrero 2021 alcanzando un 55,7 por ciento menos respecto al porcentaje interanual, significando una caída de 20 millones de viajeros. Ante la necesidad de aumentar los vuelos, la aplicación de las vacunas representan un paso escencial para lograr cierta inmunidad en la lucha contra de contra la pandemia, para que más personas puedan volver a viajar y así reactivar la conectividad aérea en cada país y en la región.
El Director Ejecutivo de ALTA José Ricardo Botelho señaló que esa baja en el tráfico de pasajeros es un cambio en la tendencia mostrada en los meses anteriores, en los cuales se acercaron a los niveles de 2019, pero ahora las cifras apuntan a un mes con la mayor caída al anterior. Sin embargo, agregó que el tráfico internacional ha sido el más golpeado con una reducción del 66,7 por ciento en Febrero 2021, mientras que en el doméstico fue de 46.6 por ciento, con el traslado de 4.362.250 personas desde y hacia América Latina y el Caribe en el segundo mes. Según la ALTA, los pasajeros no viajarán si existe una posibilidad de cuarentena, ahora más estricta por las reimposiciones de medidas en la región.
El organismo ha afirmado que resulta importante considerar a la vacunación como una solución de largo plazo, mientras para el corto plazo deben evaluarse otras alternativas eficientes para la movilidad. El reconocimiento entre Estados de las pruebas y vacunas es clave, para lo que deben acordar estándares de aceptación y seguridad en aras de que las credenciales sanitarias sean reconocidas al momento de aterrizar en el extranjero. A excepción de Chile, la población en la región aún presenta una baja tasa de vacunación, con disparidad en los tiempos en los que los países llegarán a la inmunidad, lo cual podría generar una prolongación y descoordinación en el proceso de reactivación de los viajes internacionales. A diferencia de Rusia y China, ninguna nación en Latinoamérica ha recuperado sus niveles previos a la Covid-19 respecto al movimiento de pasajeros, solo México y Brasil presentan mejores números porque continuaron sus operaciones sin cierre de fronteras, no obstante, siguen por debajo de lo registrado en 2019.

La Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA), la Asociación de Transporte Aéreo Internacional (IATA) y el Consejo Internacional de Aeropuertos para América Latina y el Caribe (ACI-LAC) continúan abogando por la necesidad de planificar con antelación y de manera coordinada entre los gobiernos y la industria con el fin de que la aviación comercial pueda retomar, una vez que se levanten las nuevas restricciones de movilidad en la región latinoamericana. En el comunicado expresan: “Entendemos y compartimos que el bienestar de las personas es la prioridad. Por ello, tras numerosos diálogos con autoridades de salud y representantes gubernamentales, aerolíneas, aeropuertos y proveedores nos hemos preparado para ofrecer un servicio seguro con todos los protocolos necesarios para proteger a los usuarios y colaboradores. Sin embargo, en este momento es imperativo contar con una armonización regulatoria regional y con un panorama claro para la industria y, especialmente, para los usuarios. El transporte aéreo requiere de una planificación detallada por toda la logística que hay que gestionar; por un lado, para garantizar lo más importante la seguridad, por otro, para atender a los pasajeros que necesitan previsibilidad para confiar nuevamente en los viajes. Por ello también es importante que los gobiernos consideren a los trabajadores del sector como esenciales y sean incluidos entre los grupos prioritarios para recibir las vacunas disponibles contra el Covid-19. Las restricciones actuales no solo ponen en tierra cientos de aviones, trabajadores y pasajeros, sino que afectan directamente la conectividad y los beneficios socioeconómicos que este sector aporta a nuestros países. En nombre de la industria reiteramos la urgencia de mantener una comunicación transparente y fluida con la industria que permita la planificación necesaria para el reinicio de operaciones estables”.

La Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI) ha hecho un llamado a las autoridades de cada nación para garantizar resultados óptimos en la implementación de la guía CART actualizada en Marzo de 2021. Así como también, las diferentes organizaciones de la industria han desarrollado distintos programas que ayudan al sector a recuperar la confianza de los pasajeros en los viajes aéreos al promover una armonización en las medidas sanitarias implementadas. La armonización universal de estas recomendaciones permitirá la reactivación de la industria y devolverá a las personas a sus puestos de trabajo. Además del seguimiento de la OACI sobre su implementación, es crucial monitorizar los resultados de los avances en materia de gestión de riesgos por Covid-19. En este escenario las pruebas tendrán un rol crítico para dar a los gobiernos la confianza de reabrir sus fronteras. Estudios indican que las pruebas de antígeno son una verdadera alternativa a las pruebas PCR porque cumplen con todas las características requeridas (efectividad, costo y acceso).
