Las primeras aeronaves son: N8706W Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX – C / N 42559/5902 LN y N8705Q Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX – C / N 42558/5852 LN.
La siguiente fase comprende el montaje de los motores y las pruebas de todos los sistemas, incluyendo sus primeros vuelos de prueba.
