Los World Travel Awards 2016 son considerados como los Oscar de la industria de los viajes, unos prestigiosos galardones que distinguen cada año a los mejores del sector. En la categoría de aeropuertos hay uno que destaca por encima del resto y, como no podía ser de otra forma, en la edición de este año ha vuelto a triunfar. El Aeropuerto de Zurich ha vuelto a ser proclamado como el mejor aeropuerto del mundo.
No es ninguna sorpresa que el Aeropuerto de Zurich haya conquistado el premio en los World Travel Awards 2016. No en vano desde el año 2004 siempre ha recaído en él. Anteriormente, desde que se instauraron estos galardones allá por 1993, otros como el Frankfurt Airport (Alemania) y el Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (Países Bajos) fueron merecedores del premio, pero por 13ª vez consecutiva la distinción ha vuelto a viajar hasta Suiza.
Nada han podido hacer el aeropuerto de Barcelona – El Prat (España), el Hamburg Airport (Alemania), el Heathrow Airport (Reino Unido), el Munich Airport (Alemania), el Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (Francia), el Prishtina International Airport Adem Jashari (Kosovo) y el Schiphol Amsterdam Airport (Países Bajos), que también estaban nominados en este categoría de los World Travel Awards 2016.
