Reprogramación de vuelos en Texas y Louisiana

Después del caos que causó el huracán Harvey en Texas y Louisiana, funcionarios de United Airlines han anunciado que todos los vuelos programados desde y hacia Houston comenzarán a operar el viernes.

United Airlines comenzó a operar vuelos gradualmente en el Aeropuerto Intercontinental George Bush cuando la instalación volvió a abrirse. Inicialmente se esperaba que la recuperación en el aeropuerto de Houston durara dos semanas completas, pero el proceso se completó más rápido de lo esperado.

Funcionarios del Aeropuerto Intercontinental George Bush, el segundo mayor centro de United Airlines, están aconsejando a los pasajeros que comprueben el sitio web de la instalación para conocer el estado de su vuelo. El portavoz de United, Charlie Hobart, dijo: “Si el sitio web dice que un vuelo está funcionando, tenemos la intención de operarlo”. En un día normal de operaciones, United tiene alrededor de 450 vuelos programados con salida desde el Aeropuerto Intercontinental George Bush.

United espera recibir un gran golpe financiero como resultado de la tormenta, y los analistas financieros dijeron  que la aerolínea podría sufrir una pérdida potencial de alrededor de 266 millones de dólares.

En cuanto al otro aeropuerto importante de Houston, el Aeropuerto William P. Hobby, Southwest Airlines normalmente opera alrededor de 152 vuelos desde las instalaciones y espera regresar al servicio completo para el jueves. Delta Air Lines cuenta con 37 salidas diarias desde ambos aeropuertos de Houston y dice que su servicio ha vuelto a la normalidad. En cuanto a American Airlines, espera que su servicio vuelva al 100% para el miércoles.

Following the chaos caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, United Airlines officials have announced that all flights scheduled to and from Houston will begin operations on Friday.

United Airlines began operating flights gradually at George Bush Intercontinental Airport when the facility reopened. Initially the recovery at Houston airport was expected to last two full weeks, but the process was completed faster than expected.

Officials at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, United Airlines’ second-largest hub, are advising passengers to check the facility’s website to find out the status of their flight. United spokesman Charlie Hobart said: “If the website says a flight is working, we intend to operate it.” On a typical day of operations, United has about 450 scheduled flights departing from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

United expects to receive a major financial blow as a result of the storm, and financial analysts told that the airline could suffer a potential loss of about $ 266 million.

As for Houston’s other major airport, William P. Hobby Airport, Southwest Airlines typically operates about 152 flights from the facility and expects to return to full service by Thursday. Delta Air Lines has 37 daily departures from both Houston airports and says its service has returned to normal. As for American Airlines, it expects its service to return to 100% by Wednesday.
