Iberia Líneas Aéreas tuvo incidente en Airbus A350-900
Un Airbus A350-900 de la aerolínea Iberia tuvo problemas con uno de sus dos motores obligando aterrizar de emergencia en Boston, Estados Unidos. El vuelo IB6252 despegó este Martes del Aeropuerto Internacional John F. Kennedy a las 21:14 hora de Nueva York, y tenía previsto su llegada al Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas 6 horas y 22 minutos después del despegue.
Al parecer, tras haber recorrido 1 hora y 12 minutos de vuelo, y frente a las costas de Nueva Escocia, se detectó un problema en uno de sus dos motores, lo que obligó a la tripulación a solicitar un aterrizaje de emergencia en el Aeropuerto Internacional Logan de Boston, por ser el más cercano, donde aterrizó sin incidentes a las 3 horas y 18 minutos de haber despegado. En el avión viajaban 265 pasajeros que están siendo reubicados en vuelos alternativos. Concretamente 42 volarán a Madrid en el siguiente vuelo desde Boston y 12 lo harán en dirección a Lisboa. El resto del pasaje ha sido trasladado de nuevo a Nueva York, donde Iberia cuenta con más frecuencias y hay más disponibilidad en cuanto a plazas de hotel.
El A350-900 es un modelo de última generación que está equipado con la más moderna tecnología y diseñado para ser más eficiente y respetuoso con el medio ambiente. Consume un 25% menos de combustible y emite menos CO2 a la atmósfera. El primer Airbus A350-900 de Iberia es el primero de un pedido de 16 aviones de este tipo, lo que supone la renovación de la flota de largo alcance de Iberia, que irán sustituyendo paulatinamente a los actuales A340-600 que se mantienen en servicio.
