Post-pandemic market

October 2021 traffic brought another shakeup in the middle order of Indian airlines. Go First saw its market share increase to 9.8%, 1.6% more than last month, allowing it to take third place. SpiceJet also made some gains, climbing 9% and ranking fourth in the market. The two airlines’ growth came at the expense of Vistara, whose market share fell to 7.8% from 8.7% in October 2021. British Airways calls pilots and crew members for low cost

British Airways (BA), the IAG group member airline, announced this weekend the start of the recruitment process for its new low-cost company BA Euroflyer, which will operate a fleet of seventeen Airbus A320 aircraft for operations from the Airport from Gatwick/LGW. Announcements were inserted in the usual means for the selection of aviation personnel, offering up to £ 105,000 per year for pilots and between £ 24,000 and £ 27,800 per year for cabin personnel. The new budget company is looking for people with leadership, communication and decision-making skills. The announcement states that “this is an unusual opportunity to join an airline from its inception, but with the benefits of belonging to a solid group such as British Airways”.

The company’s selection of routes, based in Gatwick/LGW, will substantially coincide with the most common low-cost tourist destinations, such as the Balearic Islands, Alicante, Malaga, Canary Islands, Cyprus, Malta, South of France in summer and in winter some ski destinations.

The new airline BA Euroflyer will have a separate economic and accounting structure but will operate under the British Airways brand and quality standards. Euroflyer will be only for documents, because everything will be done under the main banner of the company.

Luis Gallego, the current President of the IAG group, has stated that the operations of the new airline could begin in 1Q2022. Specialists venture that the first flights will take place in the last week of March 2021, coinciding with the start of the boreal summer season.
