KLM operará 167 vuelos directos verano boreal 2022

La demanda de viajes aéreos está aumentando a medida que se levantan las restricciones de la pandemia en los países de la Unión Europea. Although Covid-19 travel restrictions vary from country to country, summer demand is increasing for destinations such as the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Bali. India has also indicated that it will ease travel restrictions. KLM will respond by increasing frequencies to Delhi and Mumbai. Asia remains a strong and important market for cargo, allowing us to continue to operate low-frequency services to all pre-pandemic destinations.

Capacity on most routes to South America has been restored to roughly pre-pandemic levels. We are currently operating daily services to Sao Paulo, Panama City and Lima, with a minimum of six flights a week to Quito/Guayaquil, Bogota/Cartagena, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.

Romcargo Airlines ha sido autorizada a operar vuelos dentro y fuera de los Estados Unidos por el Departamento de Transporte (DOT). Como parte de la expansión de los servicios aéreos, la aerolínea rumana solicitó permiso para volar a los Estados Unidos más de treinta días atrás.

El Departamento de Transporte de Estados Unidos aprobó la solicitud, emitiendo un permiso y una exención el 16 de Marzo de 2022. El DOT expresó: “Es de interés público emitir al solicitante un permiso de compañía aérea extranjera. […] También encontramos que el solicitante está calificado financiera y operativamente para realizar los servicios autorizados, y que es de propiedad sustancial y está efectivamente controlado de manera consistente con las disposiciones del Acuerdo entre los Estados Unidos y la UE”.

Romcargo Airlines tiene su sede en Otopeni, en el Aeropuerto Internacional Henri Coandă de Bucarest/OTP. Sin embargo, el permiso emitido le permitirá no solo volar a los Estados Unidos desde el aeropuerto más concurrido de Rumania, sino desde cualquier estado de la UE o país miembro del Área Europea de Aviación Común.

Romcargo estaba atravesando una situación preocupante en 2021 con una nota menos optimista ante la crisis de la pandemia. En Diciembre 2021 la Autoritatea Aeronautică Civilă Română había dejado en tierra a Romcargo con la suspensión del Certificado de Operador Aéreo (AOC) el 14 de Diciembre de 2021. En su orden, la Superintendencia General de CADE entendió que las actividades de GOL Linhas Aéreas y American Airlines son complementarias, con la baja participación de la aerolínea brasileña en la oferta de vuelos entre Brasil y Estados Unidos, mientras que los competidores Azul Linhas Aéreas y Latam Airlines Brasil tienen alianzas estratégicas o asociaciones establecidas con United Airlines y Delta Airlines, respectivamente. Por lo tanto, la operación tiene el potencial de aumentar la competitividad con más oferta de vuelos en este corredor aéreo, y ha sido aprobada sin restricciones. Si el Tribunal de CADE no invoca la Ley de Concentración para su análisis o no hay apelación por parte de un tercero interesado, dentro de los quince días, la decisión de la Superintendencia será definitiva y la transacción será aprobada definitivamente por el organismo antimonopolio.

The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) of Brazil announced on Monday 03/21, without restrictions, the approval of the capital investment of American Airlines in GOL Linhas Aéreas. The purpose of the operation is to expand the current relationship of commercial cooperation with the offer of flights in the Brazil—United States Corridor. The decision order that authorizes the operation is available in the edition of the Official Gazette (DOU) of 03/21.

Since March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, GOL Linhas Aéreas has suspended its flights on the Brazil-United States route, scheduled to gradually resume in 2023. American Airlines, in turn, not only suspended, but also canceled some flights to Brazil. With the reestablishment of operations, the airlines will be able to increase the travel offer between both countries. To enable expansion of the existing partnership, the carriers have agreed to implement exclusivity clauses in relation to the Codeshare agreement, Interline and Frequent Flyer programs, as well as commercial exclusivity obligations in relation to rates and mesh availability.

In its order, the General Superintendency of CADE understood that the activities of GOL Linhas Aéreas and American Airlines are complementary, with the Brazilian airline’s low participation in the offer of flights between Brazil and the United States, while competitors Azul Linhas Aéreas and Latam Airlines Brazil have strategic alliances or established partnerships with United Airlines and Delta Airlines, respectively. Therefore, the operation has the potential to increase competitiveness with more flights offered in this air corridor, and has been approved without restrictions. If the Court of CADE does not invoke the Concentration Law for its analysis or there is no appeal by an interested third party, within fifteen days, the decision of the Superintendency will be final and the transaction will be definitively approved by the antitrust agency.

O Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica (CADE) do Brasil anunciou nesta Segunda-feira 21/03, sem restrições, a aprovação do investimento de capital da American Airlines na GOL Linhas Aéreas. O objetivo da operação é ampliar a atual relação de cooperação comercial com a oferta de voos no Corredor Brasil-Estados Unidos. O despacho decisório que autoriza a operação está disponível na edição do Diário Oficial da União (DOU) de 21/03.

Desde Março de 2020, no início da pandemia, a GOL Linhas Aéreas suspendeu seus voos na rota Brasil-Estados Unidos, com retomada gradual em 2023. A American Airlines, por sua vez, não apenas suspendeu, como também cancelou alguns voos para o Brasil. Com o restabelecimento das operações, as companhias aéreas poderão aumentar a oferta de viagens entre os dois países. Para viabilizar a expansão da parceria existente, as operadoras concordaram em implementar cláusulas de exclusividade em relação ao acordo de Codeshare, programas de Interline e Passageiro Frequente, bem como obrigações de exclusividade comercial em relação a tarifas e disponibilidade de malha.

Em seu despacho, a Superintendência-Geral do CADE entendeu que as atividades da GOL Linhas Aéreas e da American Airlines são complementares, com a baixa participação da companhia aérea brasileira na oferta de voos entre Brasil e Estados Unidos, enquanto as concorrentes Azul Linhas Aéreas e Latam Airlines Brasil possuem alianças estratégicas ou parcerias estabelecidas com a United Airlines e a Delta Airlines, respectivamente. Portanto, a operação tem potencial para aumentar a competitividade com mais voos oferecidos neste corredor aéreo, e foi aprovada sem restrições. Caso o Tribunal do CADE não invoque a Lei de Concentração para sua análise ou não haja recurso de terceiro interessado, no prazo de quinze dias, a decisão da Superintendência será definitiva e a operação será definitivamente aprovada pelo órgão de defesa da concorrência.
