DALLAS, EE.UU · La compañía aérea Southwest Airlines ha transportado en los primeros meses de 2016 a 49,8 millones de pasajeros, obteniendo un incremento de un 6,6% más que en el mismo periodo del año 2015, según datos de la aerolínea estadounidense realizando 535.558 vuelos, reportando un aumento de los mismos en +4,4%. En este período, la capacidad se ha incrementado un 7,2% y el tráfico de pasajeros ha repuntado un 8%. El factor de ocupación se ha situado en 82,2%, 0,6 puntos más. Solo en mayo la compañía norteamericana ha transportado un 5,7% más de pasajeros, obteniendo 10,9 millones. En este mes de junio, la oferta se ha elevado un 4,6% y la demanda ha aumentado un 6,4%. El factor de ocupación alcanzó el 85,8%, 1,4 puntos porcentuales más. En el quinto mes del año, Southwest Airlines ha operado 111.802 vuelos, un 2,9% más que en el mismo mes del año anterior.
