British Airwais e Iberia se encuentran ante la disyuntiva por su alianza dentro del International Airlines Group (IAG) debido a las consecuencias que en un futuro tendrá el Brexit y la salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea y los acuerdos entre las naciones que forman parte de esa unidad territorial; según ha concluido este jueves en Madrid el presidente de Ryanair, Michael O’Leary.
Ryanair arma su estrategia
El máximo directivo de la low cost irlandesa se ha mostrado convencido de que IAG tendrá que reestructurarse como consecuencia de las autorizaciones de la Unión Europea y la consiguiente exclusión de British Airways del cielo abierto europeo.
En cuanto a lo que afecta este asunto a los intereses particulares de Ryanair, su presidente ha apuntado que si se produce esa ruptura que varticina entre la aerolínea británica y la española habrá «una oportunidad adicional» para que la aerolínea irlandesa crezca en el Reino Unido.
O’Leary ha añadido que «una hipotética depreciación de la libra provocaría, además, que un mayor número de personas quieran viajar al Reino Unido», lo que a su juicio repercutiría «favorablemente» en el número de pasajeros transportados a ese país por Ryanair.
Con respecto al impacto de la crisis enfrentada este verano por Vueling en el Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat, el presidente de Ryanair ha afirmado que han percibido un aumento de ventas, así como un mayor tráfico en su pagina web hacia los destinos en competencia directa.
En cuanto a la ligera tendencia creciente que se observa en los precios del crudo, O’Leary ha asegurado que Ryanair no repercutiría en sus billetes una futura subida del combustible, dado que la compañía compró carburante para cubrir sus necesidades hasta 2018.
