La terminal más nueva del aeropuerto de Changi se inaugurará el 31 de octubre, según el Ministro de Transporte, Khaw Boon Wan de Singapore
Changi Airport Group dijo en un comunicado de prensa que un «pequeño número» de chequeos y revisiones se completará en la fase final de los preparativos. Cathay Pacific y Korean Air, dos de las nueve líneas aéreas que operarán desde T4, serán las primeras en pasar a la nueva terminal el 31 de octubre. Los primeros vuelos de llegada y salida, ambos vuelos de Hong Kong en T4 serán operados por Cathay Pacific. Las otras siete aerolíneas el AirAsia Group (cuatro compañías aéreas), Cebu Pacific, Spring Airlines y Vietnam Airlines cambiarán a T4 entre el 2 de noviembre y el 7 de noviembre.
Los preparativos para las operaciones de vuelo en T4 comenzaron en octubre del año pasado, dijo el aeropuerto. «Esto comenzó con ejercicios de mesa para desarrollar los procedimientos operativos estándar, y más tarde avanzó a los ejercicios de despliegue en tierra para familiarizar al personal con el nuevo terminal y los procesos», dijo.
El nuevo T4 de dos plantas de S $ 985 millones es la terminal más pequeña del aeropuerto, apenas la mitad del tamaño de la Terminal 3. Con una capacidad de unos 16 millones de pasajeros, T4 elevará la capacidad total del aeropuerto a 82 millones de pasajeros al año.
La automatización es promocionada como uno de los mayores avances de T4. Además del sistema FAST, el aeropuerto está introduciendo nueva tecnología en el manejo de equipaje, la seguridad, el comercio minorista y la limpieza sectores que emplean el 80 por ciento de todo el personal del aeropuerto de Changi.

Changi Airport Group said in a press release that a «small number» of checks and reviews will be completed in the final phase of the preparations. Cathay Pacific and Korean Air, two of the nine airlines that will operate from T4, will be the first to move to the new terminal on October 31. The first arrival and departure flights both Hong Kong flights – on T4 will be operated by Cathay Pacific. The other seven airlines the AirAsia Group (four airlines), Cebu Pacific, Spring Airlines and Vietnam Airlines will switch to T4 between November 2 and November 7.
Preparations for T4 flight operations began in October last year, the airport said. «This started with table exercises to develop standard operating procedures, and later advanced to ground deployment exercises to familiarize staff with the new terminal and processes,» he said.
The new two-story T4 of S $ 985 million is the smallest terminal at the airport, barely half the size of Terminal 3. With a capacity of about 16 million passengers, T4 will increase the airport’s total capacity to 82 million passengers per year.
Automation is promoted as one of the biggest advances in T4. In addition to the FAST system, the airport is introducing new technology in baggage handling, security, retail and cleaning – sectors that employ 80 percent of all Changi airport staff. A \ W
