Delta also warned that some of its in-flight food and beverage services could be affected on Monday. Strong winds could make it difficult for catering trucks to move around the runway.
Airlines have warned travelers that Hurricane Irma will disrupt flight schedules in Atlanta on Monday and advise travelers to check the status of their flight.
Southwest Airlines plans to operate about half of its flights from Atlanta on Monday, and will return to normal operations on Tuesday. Dallas-based Southwest is the second-largest airline at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Both Southwest and Delta are allowing customers to make changes to their flight schedules without paying certain exchange rates. Delta said it will operate a humanitarian flight to bring recovery supplies to St. Thomas on Monday and return to Atlanta with 150 US citizens.
