La aerolínea Orange Air con sede en Sandford, Florida ha cancelado definitivo su certificado de operador aéreo

Orange Air ha tenido su Certificado Operador Aereo (AOC) cancelados por el Departamento de Transporte de los Estados Unidos (DOT), después que el DOT fue informado por la aerolínea de que había entregado su Certificado de Transporte Aéreo.

La aerolínea con sede en Florida suspendió todos los vuelos de ingresos en 2016. Posteriormente inició conversaciones con la aerolínea chárter World Atlantic Airlines, de Miami, Estado de Florida, sobre posibles apoyos financieros para una reestructuración y una posible adquisición. Orange Air entonces avisó al DOT en marzo de 2017 que planeaba reanudar operaciones.

Sin embargo, en mayo de 2017, Orange Air informó al DOT de que no se opondría si el Departamento renunciara al requisito de latencia de un año y cancelara inmediatamente los certificados de Orange. En consecuencia, el DOT lo hizo.

Orange Air, based in Sandford, Florida, has canceled its air operator certificate

Orange Air has had its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) canceled by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), after the DOT was informed by the airline that it had delivered its Air Transportation Certificate.

The Florida-based airline suspended all revenue flights in 2016. It subsequently began discussions with charter airline World Atlantic Airlines of Miami, Florida, about possible financial support for a restructuring and possible acquisition. Orange Air then advised the DOT in March 2017 that it planned to resume operations.

However, in May 2017, Orange Air informed the DOT that it would not object if the Department waived the one-year latency requirement and immediately canceled Orange’s certificates. Consequently, the DOT did.

Prior to its closure, Orange Air provided scheduled and charter flights, and operated a scheduled service between Cincinnati Int’l, Branson, New Orleans Int’l and Cancun with a fleet of an MD-82 and an MD-83 on behalf of Branson Air Express. A \ W
