En el primer trimestre del año 2017, la mayor aerolínea del país, Air India, obtuvo los mejores ingresos. Varias emprpresas en el último ejercicio esperan recuperarse de las pérdidas financieras que enfrentan las aerolíneas en el país. En el último año fiscal, los mejores jugadores privados como Jet Airways, SpiceJet cayó un 4%.

Durante los tres primeros meses del año fiscal en curso, las tres empresas obtuvieron ganancias enormes. El beneficio neto de Indigo fue de Rs 811 crore. Un 37% más que el año anterior. El beneficio de SpiceJet subió 18% a Rs 175 crore. Las ganancias de Jet Airways subieron casi hasta duplicar a Rs 54 crore. El sector de la aviación ha sido una buena señal ya que la disponibilidad de los precios del combustible ha aumentado en el país. El costo de operación para las compañías aéreas aumentó, pero el aumento en el número de pasajeros.
