Norwegian Air Shuttle busca despegar pronto en el mercado aéreo argentino

La eaerolínea ‘low cost’ Norwegian Air Argentina ha solicitado operar rutas en el país bajo la presentación en la 2ª Audiencia Pública de Rutas Aéreas.

El Presidente de la matriz noruega Bjorn Kjos, expresó que los trámites están en curso, no obstante, ha solicitado un Certificado de Operador Aéreo (AOC) argentino, que actualmente está pendiente de aprobación por parte del Gobierno de la Nación. Aunque las expectativas era iniciar operaciones a finales de 2017, estiman previsto para el 1Q2017.

Desde Norwegian Air Argentina explican que podría iniciar sus vuelos a fines de la temporada del verano austral, pero que sería más prudente esperar hasta el inicio del próximo verano para aumentar la frecuencia, porque la demanda sería mayor. “Somos optimistas sobre la concesión. Creo que ellos están en proceso de aprobarla”, sostuvo Kjos, agregando que espera conseguir la autorización dentro de semanas.

La matriz noruega Norwegian Air Shuttle ha estado pendiente del movimiento de ajedrez europeo, debido a los cambios tras la quiebra de Monarch Airlines. La compañía está interesada en comprar los espacios disponibles, slot y rutas aéreas dejados por la quiebra de la aerolínea británica Monarch, pero Kjos dijo que el proceso no está bien definido. Monarch quebró este mes, dejando varadas a miles de personas y generando especulaciones sobre qué ocurriría con los espacios de aterrizaje y despegue que ocupaba en aeropuertos como Londres-Gatwick y Luton. “Nosotros podríamos usar esos espacios, pero no es tan fácil transferirlos», comentó Kjos.
