Más de la mitad de los pilotos de Avianca en Colombia decidieron suspender la huelga de 51 días

Los pilotos en huelga se reintegrarán a sus actividades laborales en las próximas 72 horas, una medida que le permitirá a la aerolínea normalizar sus operaciones aéreas, anunció el viernes el sindicato que agrupa a los tripulantes.

El cese de actividades de unos 700 pilotos agremiados en la Asociación Colombiana de Aviadores Civiles (ACDAC) comenzó el 20 de Septiembre 2017 después de que no lograron acuerdos con Avianca, en una disputa laboral que incluía aumentos de salarios y otros beneficios que la empresa consideró exagerados.

«ACDAC y los aviadores civiles sindicalizados, como consecuencia de la intervención del defensor del pueblo, han decidido suspender el cese de actividades, reanudar las operaciones aéreas 72 horas después de la firma de este documento y así normalizar sus actividades laborales», dijo un acta firmada por el sindicato de los pilotos.

La mediación del defensor del pueblo, Carlos Alfonso Negret, fue decisiva para que los pilotos suspendieran la huelga, pese a que Avianca no atendió el llamado a participar en las reuniones. Negret se comprometió a velar por el respeto de los derechos laborales de los pilotos que participaron en la huelga y que temen represalias por parte de la empresa. Inmediatamente no se produjo ninguna reacción de Avianca a la decisión de los aviadores. De acuerdo con las leyes laborales de Colombia, el cese de actividades no podía superar los 60 días y el diferendo laboral debe ser dirimido por un tribunal de arbitraje.

La huelga de los pilotos redujo en más de un 50 por ciento la operación de la aerolínea y la movilización de pasajeros en el interior de Colombia y en sus vuelos internacionales. En medio del cese de actividades un tribunal declaró ilegal la huelga, pero el sindicato apeló ante una corte, mientras que el Gobierno convocó a un tribunal de arbitraje y los pilotos ignoraron un ultimátum de la aerolínea para que se reintegraran a sus actividades y evitaran procesos disciplinarios que podrían terminar en despidos.

Negret undertook to ensure respect for the labor rights of the pilots who participated in the strike and who fear reprisals by the company. Immediately there was no reaction from Avianca to the decision of the aviators. According to the labor laws of Colombia, the cessation of activities could not exceed 60 days and the labor dispute must be settled by an arbitration tribunal.
