La Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo (ALTA) desarrolla en Buenos Aires el 14º Foro Anual de Lideres de Aerolíneas

En el encuentro participarán más de 500 responsables de la toma de decisiones en la industria, incluyendo CEOs y otros ejecutivos de alto nivel de 40 aerolíneas.

ALTA (Asociación de Transporte Aéreo de América Latina y el Caribe) es una organización privada, sin fines de lucro, cuyas aerolíneas asociadas representan más del 90 por ciento del tráfico aéreo comercial de la región. ALTA coordina los esfuerzos de colaboración de sus miembros para facilitar el desarrollo de un transporte aéreo más seguro, más rentable y respetuoso con el medio ambiente en la región de América Latina y el Caribe en beneficio mutuo de los miembros de la asociación, sus clientes y la industria.

Desarrollado en el Hotel Hilton de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, los líderes aerocomerciales esperan para hoy la presencia del presidente Mauricio Macri en la inauguración formal del debate, que arrancó este domingo y que finaliza mañana 21 de Noviembre 2017.

El presidente del comité ejecutivo de ALTA y CEO de Latam Airlines, Enrique Cueto, resaltó ayer la disposición del gobierno de Macri para promover el desarrollo del sector aerocomercial a nivel local y regional. Enrique Cueto, junto al director ejecutivo de Alta, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, encabezaron ayer la jornada de apertura de foro de líderes de aerolíneas. «Que hoy haya muchas aerolíneas pugnando por operar en Argentina se debe a la decisión del Gobierno de eliminar las barreras que impedían el crecimiento del sector. Anteriormente se ponían trabas con el argumento de defender a la aerolínea del Estado. Hoy esas barreras se han levantado y como consecuencia aparece la intención de ocupar los espacios disponibles. El transporte aéreo es superdinámico y cambió a la par de lo que fue cambiando el mundo. Hoy la tecnología nos aporta mayor funcionalidad a la hora de comercializar los pasajes, mayor seguridad operativa y el gran desafío es lograr un crecimiento equilibrado», remarcó el directivo Enrique Cueto. «Durante este foro, esperamos seguir fomentando los esfuerzos de conjuntos de cooperación de ALTA con todos los actores de la industria», sostuvo Oliveira.

Los datos aportados por la ALTA detallaron que en 2016, las aerolíneas de la región transportaron 262 millones de pasajeros, aumentaron su flota a 2064 aviones para una edad promedio de flota de 7,6 años, e iniciaron operación a 60 nuevas rutas.

The meeting will involve more than 500 decision-makers in the industry, including CEOs and other senior executives from 40 airlines.

ALTA (Association of Air Transport of Latin America and the Caribbean) is a private non-profit organization, whose associated airlines represent more than 90 percent of the commercial air traffic of the region. ALTA coordinates the collaborative efforts of its members to facilitate the development of a safer, more profitable and environmentally friendly air transport in the Latin American and Caribbean region for the mutual benefit of the members of the association, their clients and the industry.
