Las aerolíneas de la Micronesia Nauru Airlines y Tonga Airlines estudian alianza para mejorar conexiones hacia Australia
El Primer Ministro de Tonga, ‘Akilisi Pohiva, ha recibido a una delegación de Nauru Airlines para discutir la posibilidad de un servicio entre Tonga y Brisbane. El Presidente de Nauru Airlines, Trevor Jensen, y con el director gerente de Real Tonga, Tevita Palu, se reunieron para diagramar una posible asociación.
Representantes de la comunidad de Tonga en Brisbane (Australia) informaron que ninguno de los operadores regionales estaba interesado en brindar un servicio directo, pero que Nauru Airlines había indicado que podían asociarse con Real Tonga y el gobierno. Después de varias reuniones en Tonga, la aerolínea le gustó lo que había visto y estaba ansiosa por continuar con el tema. Real Tonga expresó que todavía había muchas áreas por discutir y que los números debían analizarse, pero él estaba en total apoyo de la empresa conjunta.

Representatives of the Tonga community in Brisbane (Australia) reported that none of the regional operators was interested in providing a direct service, but that Nauru Airlines had indicated that they could partner with Real Tonga and the government. After several meetings in Tonga, the airline liked what it had seen and was anxious to continue with the issue. Real Tonga said there were still many areas to discuss and that the numbers should be analyzed, but he was in full support of the joint venture.
Nauru Airlines is the exclusive property of the Government of Nauru and currently flies to Brisbane, Nadi, Tarawa, Majuro, Pohnpei and Guam. It owns a fleet of five Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
