Desembarco de American jet en Puerto Madryn, Chubut
American Jet Líneas Aéreas estaría finiquitando la tramitación para iniciar operaciones hacia el Aeropuerto Puerto Madryn. La aerolínea regional con sede en el Aeropuerto Jorge Newbery ha mantenido contacto con el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Puerto Madryn para el restablecimiento de los vuelos suspendidos al Aeropuerto de la localidad luego que la pandemia haya restringido los servicios.
American Jet S.A, una compañía fundada en 1984, comenzó sus operaciones como taxi aéreo. Hoy continúa ofreciendo ese servicio nacional e internacionalmente con bases en Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (BA), San Fernando (BA), Neuquén y Mendoza. En su servicio especializado de vuelos privados, tiene como principales clientes a empresas petroleras y mineras, a las que brinda servicio de transporte de personal. Su fundador es el empresario Jorge Rodríguez, presidente de la compañía y socio mayoritario.
Los destinos más frecuentes de la empresa responden a la localización de las actividades que atienden y son Mendoza, Neuquén, Comodoro Rivadavia, Perito Moreno y Puerto San Julián, entre otros. El objetivo de la empresa meses atrás estaba basado en la incorporación de nuevas aeronaves para lanzarse al mercado con vuelos comerciales.
Aeropuerto El Tehuelche
El Aeropuerto Puerto Madryn/El Tehuelche PMY/SAVY es un aeropuerto a 5 kilómetros (3 millas) al noroeste de Puerto Madryn, una ciudad sobre el Golfo Nuevo en la Provincia de Chubut, Argentina. Desde el Gobierno Municipal han sostenido la importancia de avanzar en una remodelación del Aeropuerto El Tehuelche, aunque se ha destacado el rol del Aeropuerto Trelew/Almirante Zar, que es un aeropuerto internacional y de cabotaje, que se encuentra a 7 km al norte del centro de la Ciudad de Trelew, en la Provincia del Chubut, y a una distancia del Aeropuerto Puerto Madryn de aproximadamente unos 70 kilómetros.
“Hemos presentado distintos pedidos para realizar la ampliación del aeropuerto, que ha tenido mucha circulación de pasajeros y la verdad que se vuelve incómoda la estructura que tiene. Hemos solicitado la ampliación de la parte de confitería y la parte de la cinta. Nosotros tenemos que fortalecer la comarca. Tenemos un aeropuerto cabecera en Trelew, que tenemos que respetar, un aeropuerto internacional; pero también tenemos que seguir fortaleciendo el resto de la Comarca. Nosotros tenemos que generar la visita de turistas a Puerto Madryn y a toda la región. Podemos hacer un circuito importantísimo para que el turista no visite un solo lugar, sino que pueda recorrer un circuito de excelencia”, expresó el Intendente de la Ciudad de Puerto Madryn, Gustavo Sastre.
Retorno de Andes
El Aeropuerto de Puerto Madryn se encuentra a la espera del retorno de las operaciones de Andes Líneas Aéreas. Luego de varios contactos con directivos de Andes Líneas Aéreas, el intendente de Puerto Madryn ha comunicado que la empresa podría volver a volar a la ciudad a fines del mes de Febrero 2021. Si bien es una estimación que ha hecho la empresa, el Intendente Gustavo Sastre destacó que “Madryn tiene que tener y va a tener línea aérea. Esperemos que sea Andes porque se convirtió en la línea de bandera madrynense”. Andes decidió no volver a brindar el servicio tras la reanudación de vuelos domésticos en Argentina a raíz de la baja demanda de ventas que hay en el mercado, junto a los elevados costos para brindar el servicio.

Return from Andes
The Puerto Madryn Airport is awaiting the return of Andes Líneas Aéreas operations. After several contacts with managers of Andes Líneas Aéreas, the mayor of Puerto Madryn has communicated that the company could fly to the city again at the end of February 2021. Although it is an estimate made by the company, Mayor Gustavo Sastre stressed that “Madryn has to have and will have an airline. Let’s hope it’s Andes because it became the Madrid flag line”. Andes decided not to provide the service again after the resumption of domestic flights in Argentina due to the low sales demand in the market, together with the high costs to provide the service.
