Los dicchos del CEO Tim Clark de la línea aérea de Emiratos Árabes Unidos este Miércoles 13/01 ha expresado cierto letargo en el Programa 777X de la compañía aeroespacial Boeing, avizorando que no podría entrar en servicio con las aerolíneas hasta 2023 o incluso más tarde, en medio de la incertidumbre sobre el cronograma de desarrollo y certificación del avión bimotor más grande.

Boeing ha estado desarrollando el jet de cuerpo ancho, una nueva versión de su popular avión Boeing 777, con el objetivo de lanzarlo en 2022, dos años más tarde de lo previsto. “Se trata de cuándo se completará y certificará y se ofrecerá para la entrada de servicio. Eso podría ser el 22, podría ser el 23, podría ser aún más largo. Así que sólo esperaremos y veremos qué hará Boeing con respecto a eso y tomaremos una opinión sobre cómo encajan en la flota en ese momento en particular”, dijo Tim Clark. Espera que los reguladores colocaran el nuevo jet bajo un mayor nivel de escrutinio como resultado de la crisis del 737 MAX. El Director Financiero de Boeing, Greg Smith, advirtió que la entrada en el mercado estaría influenciada por los requisitos de los reguladores. The Boeing Company has appointed the new position of Director of Aerospace Safety, adding a new senior management position as a result of events involving the safety of the 737 MAX design, assembly and test line. The reappointment of Mike Delaney redesigns and engages the company toward high and broad control of internal security initiatives and a seat on Boeing’s Executive Board, says CEO Dave Calhoun.

Mike Delaney led engineering for Boeing’s commercial division during 2010-16, most of the time for the 737 MAX line when it was being developed, then led the company’s aircraft development unit, and most recently led a campaign to assure travelers that aircraft cabins are free of contagion on board.

The company announced the appointment less than a week after agreeing to improve its internal security oversight as part of a settlement for a punitive US$ 2.5 billion in fines established by the United States Department of Justice.

Linhas Aéreas de Mozambique (LAM) ha anunciado este Martes 12/01 el final de la operación que conectaba Maputo y Lisboa debido a la pandemia del Coronavirus. La operación, que se llevó a cabo en asociación con la empresa portuguesa Hi Fly, fue reintroducida en Julio 2020 y tuvo un período de seis meses, y se esperaba que terminara oficialmente el 15 de Enero de 2021. “El vuelo ha continuado hasta la fecha según lo previsto, pero no se ha ampliado debido a la situación de la pandemia Covid-19 en Europa y otros países del mundo”, dijo un comunicado de la aerolínea mozambiqueña.

El acuerdo de asoociación LAM-Hi Fly establecida con aeronaves Airbus A330-300. El vuelo de conexión al viejo continente había representado el regreso de la compañía de bandera mozambiqueña al espacio europeo después de casi diez años, y fue descrito como una ruta sostenible. “Miramos la inteligencia del tráfico y observamos que esta es la ruta que más pasajeros tiene. No sólo entre Lisboa y Maputo, sino también desde Maputo a Lisboa y luego a Europa Occidental”, dijo Juan Carlos Pó Jorge, Gerente General de la compañía, en el momento del anuncio de la operación.

Aerolíneas vuela a Rusia por segunda dosis vacunas Sputnik V

Un nuevo vuelo de Aerolíneas Argentinas partirá este Jueves 14/01 a las 21:00 horas rumbo a Moscú, Federación Rusia, para traer al país otras 300.000 dosis de la vacuna Sputnik V. El avión Airbus A330-200 llevará una tripulación de 20 personas; diez de ellos son los pilotos que deberán turnarse para completar el trayecto, sin escalas. El vuelo retornará a Argentina con su carga el Sábado 16/01 al mediodía. A diferencia de otras operaciones por vacunas, como las que se realizaron a China, el avión que va a Moscú no realizará paradas técnicas, ya que el vuelo fue planificado para cumplir sus casi 18 horas sin necesidad de bajar para reabastecerse de combustible. Fuentes de la aerolínea explicaron además que lleva tres tripulaciones completas, para lo cual es necesario el turno de pilotaje.

En Moscú, las vacunas serán cargadas en la bodega del avión en un embalaje especial para mantenerlas en frío. Esta estiba estará a cargo de los rusos. El avión permanecerá en el Aeropuerto Moscú entre 4 y 6 horas. Durante este período, la tripulación argentina deberá permanecer en el interior de la aeronave. “Son 40 horas en total, entre la ida y la vuelta, en las que prácticamente la tripulación va a vivir arriba del avión”, explicaron en Aerolíneas Argentinas. La comida se lleva enteramente desde Buenos Aires. En la tripulación corroboraron un dato curioso: este vuelo por la vacuna Sputnik V es el más largo que la compañía argentina haya hecho sin escalas. Anteriormente, Aerolíneas Argentinas realizó un vuelo inicial a Moscú para traer la primera partida de 300.000 vacunas. El titular de Aerolíneas Argentinas tuiteó que “Este jueves a las 21:00 horas parte el segundo vuelo de @Aerolineas_AR rumbo a Moscú para traer al país otras 300.000 dosis de la vacuna Sputnik V. Un trabajo coordinado entre diferentes áreas de Gobierno para cumplir con esta tarea logística fundamental en la pelea contra el Covid-19”.
