Compañía KLM suspenderá temporalmente vuelos internacionales

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines ha anunciado que suspenderá temporalmente todos sus vuelos intercontinentales y algunos servicios dentro de Europa, decisión impulsada luego de que el Gobierno de Reino de los Países Bajos pidiera obligatoriamente una prueba PCR negativa y un test de Antígeno para todos los pasajeros, incluyendo tripulaciones, que entren a este país. Esta medida iniciará a partir del Viernes 22 de Enero de 2021, con el objetivo de evitar que sus tripulaciones se queden aparcadas en otros países. Su flota de largo alcance estará estacionada en el Aeropuerto Internacional Amsterdam/Schiphol.

KLM expresó que la medida está sujeta al transporte de pasajeros (incluida la repatriación), para los vuelos de carga, incluso si se llevan dispositivos médicos para combatir la pandemia Covid-19. Lo que se mantiene activo, será el traslado de las vacunas. “Al imponer una prueba de antígeno a las tripulaciones del extranjero, corremos el riesgo de dejar atrás a los miembros de la tripulación. Esto significa que ya no podemos volar a larga distancia ni a varios destinos en Europa”, dijo un portavoz de KLM. La aerolínea no ha especificado cuáles son los destinos que va a suspender, sin embargo un portavoz informó que se tratan de servicios que no regresan a Holanda por la noche, esto porque el personal tendría que pasar la noche en un hotel. Los sindicatos que representan al personal de KLM aún no han comunicado su accionar, ante las medidas de la aerolínea.

Welke bestemmingen ze gaat opschorten heeft de luchtvaartmaatschappij niet aangegeven, maar een woordvoerder meldde dat het diensten zijn die ‘s nachts niet terugkeren naar Nederland, dit omdat het personeel de nacht in een hotel zou moeten doorbrengen. De vakbonden die het KLM-personeel vertegenwoordigen, hebben hun acties nog niet gecommuniceerd, gezien de maatregelen van de luchtvaartmaatschappij.
