Genera debates suspensión AOC Nigerian Eagle Airline
Las recientes directivas del Comité de Aviación de la Cámara de Representantes a la Autoridad de Aviación Civil de Nigeria (NCAA) para emitir el Certificado de Operador Aéreo (AOC) a la aerolínea Nigerian Eagle Airline que está siendo partner de la Compañía de Gestión de Activos de Nigeria (AMCON) ha provocado debates de actores clave en todo el sector de la aviación.
El comité dirigido por su Presidente, Nnolim Nnaji, había emitido la directiva en Abuja el Miércoles 06/10 después de una petición dirigida conjuntamente por la Asociación de Profesionales de la Aviación de Nigeria (ANAP) y la autoridad federal de aeropuertos de Nigeria (FAAN) rama de la Unión Nacional de Pensionistas (NUP) para restringir la NCAA de emitir AOC a Nigeria Eagle Airline para evitar una repetición de lo que sucedió en el caso de Bellview Airlines que se transformó en First Nation Airways y las agencias de aviación terminaron perdiendo miles de millones de nairas adeudadas por la extinta Bellview Airlines.
AMCON, según los peticionarios, había adquirido propiedades de Arik Air y decidió cambiar su nombre a Nigeria Eagle Airline para evadir el pago de las monumentales deudas contraídas con todas las agencias de aviación por Arik Air. Los peticionarios alegaron además que AMCON ha cambiado la librea de los aviones de Arik Air a Nigerian Eagle Airline, lo que demostró que ha adquirido completamente los activos de Arik Air, pero quería abdicar de sus pasivos a través del cambio de nombre. En la directiva a la NCAA para suspender la emisión de AOC, el comité de la cámara de representantes liderado por Nnolim Nnaji dijo que la posición del comité estaba destinada a dar espacio para que investigara el supuesto plan de AMCON de flotar la nigeriana Eagle Airline con activos de Arik para determinar la verdadera situación y garantizar que el aspecto de los pasivos se resuelva debidamente. La directiva había enfatizado que: “Si realmente AMCON se hace cargo de los activos de Arik Air y los entrega a otra entidad legal, el aspecto de los pasivos debe abordarse para que no se pierdan fondos públicos”, Nnolim Nnaji. Recent directives from the House Aviation Committee to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to issue the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to the Nigerian Eagle Airline that is partnering with the Asset Management Company Nigeria (AMCON) has sparked discussions from key players across the aviation sector.
The committee led by its Chairman, Nnolim Nnaji, had issued the directive in Abuja on Wednesday 06/10 after a petition led jointly by the Association of Aviation Professionals of Nigeria (ANAP) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). branch of the National Union of Pensioners (NUP) to restrict the NCAA from issuing AOC to Nigeria Eagle Airline to avoid a repeat of what happened in the case of Bellview Airlines which became First Nation Airways and aviation agencies ended up losing billions of naira owed by the defunct Bellview Airlines.
AMCON, according to the petitioners, had acquired properties from Arik Air and decided to change its name to Nigeria Eagle Airline to avoid paying the monumental debts incurred with all aviation agencies by Arik Air. The petitioners further alleged that AMCON has changed the livery of the Arik Air aircraft to Nigerian Eagle Airline, showing that it has fully acquired the assets of Arik Air, but wanted to abdicate its liabilities through the name change. In directing to the NCAA to suspend the issuance of AOCs, the House of Representatives committee led by Nnolim Nnaji said the committee’s position was intended to give space for it to investigate AMCON’s alleged plan to float the Nigerian Eagle Airline with Arik’s assets to determine the true status and ensure that the liability issue is properly resolved. The board had emphasized that: “If AMCON actually takes over the assets of Arik Air and hands them over to another legal entity, the liabilities aspect must be addressed so that public funds are not lost”, Nnolim Nnaji. However, the Committee’s directive to the NCAA has received opposition across the industry with different key players accusing legislators of trying to usurp the role of the NCAA, the regulatory agency on such issues.
