Aeropuerto canadiense recibe fondos federales
El Aeropuerto Kelowna, localizado en el Estado de Columbia Británica (BC), Canadá, ha recibido fondos por US$ 15 millones de Dólares para actualizaciones. Los fondos federales permitirán mejoras en la infraestructura, incluido el flujo de pasajeros y tripulantes que se someten a pruebas de COVID-19. El Ministerio de Transporte, ha comunicado que algunas de las mejoras incluyen el reemplazo de la iluminación del aeródromo, secciones del techo del edificio de la terminal y la construcción de áreas de pista. Una mejor infraestructura de pruebas de COVID-19 podría incluir quioscos, pantallas sin contacto y barreras, especialmente para los pasajeros que se están haciendo la prueba del virus. La inversión tiene como objetivo revitalizar la industria de la aviación, al tiempo que hace que los clientes se sientan seguros.
El Alcalde de Kelowna, Colin Basran, dice que el aeropuerto ha visto un aumento en el tráfico de pasajeros en comparación con muchos otros aeropuertos durante la pandemia. Canadian airport receives federal funds
Kelowna Airport, located in the State of British Columbia (BC), Canada, has received funding of US$ 15 million for upgrades. The federal funds will enable infrastructure improvements, including the flow of passengers and crew members who are tested for COVID-19. The Ministry of Transportation has reported that some of the improvements include the replacement of airfield lighting, roof sections of the terminal building and the construction of runway areas. Better COVID-19 testing infrastructure could include kiosks, touchless screens and barriers, especially for passengers being tested for the virus. The investment aims to revitalize the aviation industry, while making customers feel safe.
Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran says the airport has seen an increase in passenger traffic compared to many other airports during the pandemic. The funding could be useful in speeding up the economic recovery of various sectors in the region known for attracting tourists.
