Las aerolíneas del Reino Unido han advertido a los pasajeros que no podrán volar después del Brexit, pudiendo cancelarse vuelos sin compensación
El canciller Philip Hammond ha hablado por primera vez desde que reveló que se negará a presupuestar un «no acuerdo» sobre el Brexit. «Es concebible que no habrá tráfico aéreo entre la UE y el Reino Unido el 29 de marzo de 2019. Uno puede planificar para el escenario más extremo. No creo que nadie piense seriamente que eso es lo que haremos. Lo que tendremos que hacer es determinar cuál es el peor escenario realista para el que tenemos que planificar e invertir», dijo esta mañana al Comité Selecto del Tesoro.
Gran Bretaña inició formalmente negociaciones para abandonar la Unión Europea en junio, pero se ha avanzado poco en un acuerdo sobre cuestiones como los derechos de los ciudadanos, que están en primer lugar en la agenda antes de que se debatan cuestiones sectoriales como la aviación.
Las aerolíneas dicen que necesitan un nuevo acuerdo para reemplazar el actual acuerdo de «Cielos Abiertos» para septiembre u octubre del 2018 con el fin de proporcionar vuelos programados en los meses posteriores a la salida de Gran Bretaña de la UE. Sin un acuerdo específico, es probable que las aerolíneas trasladen bases fuera de Gran Bretaña en favor de otros países de la UE para continuar volando.

The prime minister, Theresa May, infuriated some Britons by repeatedly refusing to say that she would vote if another referendum were held tomorrow. Hammond is the main cabinet voice that presses for a long transition agreement after the Brexit day in March 2019 to prevent economic damage from collapsing.
