Avianca pilotea reformas para sanear el grupo
Avianca ha anunciado la conclusión del reperfilamiento de su deuda financiera, así como el desembolso del crédito garantizado convertible por US$ 250 millones por parte de United Airlines, Inc., y una afiliada de Kingsland Holdings Limited. En este contexto, el CEO Anko van der Werff sostiene que con el nuevo capital la aerolínea planea densificar los aviones, así como mejorar la app móvil y la página web. Además, indica que la compañía analizará muy bien que hará con el sector de cargas. “Justamente con las noticias de esta semana tenemos el tiempo para analizar bien qué vamos a hacer y es algo para el primer trimestre de 2020”, sostiene Anko van der Werff.
Avianca sufre el peor retracción de su historia, cerrando 21 rutas y la venta de 24 aviones como plan de desinversión de activos no estratégicos para salir de sus dificultades financieras. Avianca está vendiendo 24 aeronaves. En cuanto al acuerdo con United Airlines y Copa, Anko van der Werff ha asegurado que estará listo para principios de 2020, “algo importante no solo para las aerolíneas, sino para los clientes, con el objetivo es transportar los pasajeros de Avianca a Estados Unidos gracias a este acuerdo con United, ellos van a llevarlos a las ciudades más pequeñas a donde nosotros no vamos a volar. Y esto también se dará al revés”, señala el directivo.
