Acuerdo de Seguridad de la Aviación Bilateral (BASA) entre Estados Unidos y China
La FAA y los reguladores chinos firmaron un acuerdo de implementación para el Acuerdo de Seguridad de la Aviación Bilateral entre Estados Unidos y China (BASA) la semana pasada. Aunque los dos países firmaron BASA en 2005, generalmente acordando facilitar la aceptación mutua de partes y aeronaves certificadas por el otro, los países tardaron 12 años en llegar a un acuerdo sobre un plan de implementación concreto.
Estados Unidos tiene acuerdos similares con Canadá y Europa para facilitar la aceptación mutua de la certificación de aeronaves. El presidente Trump tiene previsto viajar a China en una misión comercial a principios de noviembre, que se espera que incluya representantes de Boeing.
Las compañías aeroespaciales estadounidenses y chinas esperan beneficiarse del acuerdo. Bilateral Aviation Security Agreement (BASA) between the United States and China
The FAA and Chinese regulators signed an implementation agreement for the Bilateral Aviation Security Agreement between the United States and China (BASA) last week. Although the two countries signed BASA in 2005, generally agreeing to facilitate the mutual acceptance of certified parts and aircraft by the other, the countries took 12 years to reach an agreement on a concrete implementation plan.
The United States has similar agreements with Canada and Europe to facilitate mutual acceptance of aircraft certification. President Trump is scheduled to travel to China on a trade mission in early November, which is expected to include Boeing representatives.
US and Chinese aerospace companies hope to benefit from the agreement. Although the C919 made in China lacks the performance to compete with the Boeing 737MAX and the Airbus A320NEO, its narrow body pairs, in addition to the business of Chinese carriers subsidized by the state, COMAC, manufacturer of the C919, has great aspirations to compete with the two big ones of commercial aviation.
