Aerolíneas Argentinas reconecta Punta del Este
Aerolíneas Argentinas ha restablecido sus operaciones en la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP y Punta del Este/PDE este Jueves 16/09 en el Aeropuerto Internacional Laguna del Sauce después de dieciocho meses de inactividad por restricciones sanitarias por la pandemia. El restablecimiento de las conexiones fueron aplaudidas después de que se hayan interrumpidos los vuelos el 10 de Marzo de 2020. La aeronave Embraer E190-100AR aún con colores y distintivos de Austral Líneas Aéreas aterrizó en la aeroestación del destino turístico de Punta del Este, en Uruguay. Los servicios entre ambos destinos tendrán dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) en principio hasta el mes de 10/2021, mientras se planifica aumentar las frecuencias a medida que se inicia la temporada estival 2021-2022.
El Gerente General del Aeropuerto Laguna del Sauce, Alejandro Rivero, anunció para el 20 de Diciembre de 2021 el inicio de la llegada de vuelos desde Brasil por parte de la compañía Azul Linhas Aéreas, aumentando el tráfico post-pandemia. El aeropuerto realizó importantes obras en 2020 como la construcción a nuevo de la pista principal, y la instalación de nuevos hangares que cubrirá la importante demanda privada existente a nivel regional. El Director General de Turismo de la Intendencia de Maldonado, Martín Laventure, puntualizó que se van marcando hitos con la apertura del 1 de Setiembre de 2021 cuando se restablecieron las comunicaciones aéreas.
