California Pacific Airlines fue certificada por la FAA de Estados Unidos
El pasado 16 de Noviembre los accionistas de California Pacific Airlines celebraron una reunión para detallar su base de operaciones en Carlsbad, Estado de California.
El CEO Patrick Vallas, junto con el Jefe de Operaciones, Paul Hook, anunció que California Pacific Airlines (CPAir) compró una aerolínea de 58 años, que actualmente vuela como SkyValue Airways. La pequeña aerolínea efectúa vuelos programados desde Denver a pequeñas ciudades del medio oeste, opera un gran servicio de vuelos chárter con sede en Kennesaw, Georgia, para numerosos equipos universitarios de la NCAA.
CPAir espera despegar desde el Aeropuerto McClellan-Palomar de Carlsbad para Abril de 2018, volando a seis aeropuertos: Sacramento, Oakland, San José, Las Vegas, Phoenix y Cabo San Lucas. La aerolínea proyecta tener quince vuelos diarios a estos destinos.
Patrick Vallas, quien financió la mayor parte del costo inicial, dijo que gastará U$D 500,000 en promoción para la aerolínea y el Aeropuerto de Carlsbad. El presidente y CEO de SkyValue Airways, Darrell Richardson, permanecerá en esa posición bajo CPAir.

Jessica Northrup, oficial de comunicaciones del condado de San Diego para el uso de la tierra y las preocupaciones ambientales, confirmó que el 14 de noviembre, “el condado recibió una solicitud de CPAir y actualmente la está revisando para determinar si está completa”.
El año pasado, la aerolínea tuvo varios intentos fallidos en las certificaciones de la FAA. Pero, ahora que ha obtenido la Certificación de la FAA, la operación proyectada de CPAir será la operación de línea aérea comercial más grande que haya tenido el Aeropuerto de Carlsbad.
La compañía ha obtenido cinco jets regionales Embraer E-145, con opciones para comprar dos Embraer E-170 de mayor alcance y tamaño. CPAir expects to take off from McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad by April 2018, flying to six airports: Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Cabo San Lucas. The airline plans to have fifteen daily flights to these destinations.

The president of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, Ted Owen, confirmed during the meeting that the city approved the construction of 1.8 million square feet of industrial space for offices in the last 12 months. Jessica Northrup, San Diego County communications officer for land use and environmental concerns, confirmed that on November 14, “the county received a request from CPAir and is currently reviewing it to determine if it is complete”.
Last year, the airline had several failed attempts at FAA certifications. But, now that it has obtained the FAA Certification, the projected operation of CPAir will be the largest commercial airline operation Carlsbad Airport ever had.
The company has obtained five regional Embraer E-145 jets, with options to buy two larger and larger Embraer E-170 jets. The 50-seat jets will be reduced to 44 seats to allow greater passenger comfort. “These jets fly faster than a 737, and they’re perfect for fast ups and downs, even bathrooms are bigger than the 757”, said Paul Hook.
