«Alabama’s Aviation History» conmemora el 200 aniversarios del Estado de Alabama
La Comisión del Bicentenario de Alabama y Airbus anuncian la apertura de «Alabama’s Aviation History», una exposición itinerante creada para ayudar a conmemorar el 200 aniversario del estado.
Patrocinado por Airbus, la exposición muestra la larga y significativa historia de Alabama en innovación y logros en aviación, aeronáutica y aeroespacial. Sus primeros comienzos son anteriores a la primera escuela de vuelo civil de los hermanos Wright, establecida en Montgomery en 1910, y su historia abarca ambas guerras mundiales, así como un papel fundamental en la investigación y exploración espacial.
La exposición se estrena el viernes en el Alabama Shakespeare Festival junto con el estreno en Alabama de «Fly», una obra de teatro sobre Tuskegee Airmen. Según ASF, la exhibición estará abierta al mediodía -5 p.m. De lunes a sábado, así como a los titulares de entradas de «Fly».
Michelle Hurdle de Airbus señala que la exposición celebra una historia que ayudó a traer Airbus a Alabama. «Airbus encontró un hogar real en Alabama, donde la innovación y la excelencia son tradiciones. La exposición ayudará a contar esa historia a personas de todo el estado», dijo.
La exposición continuará a recorrer el estado a través de una asociación con Alabama Community College System. ACCS está coordinando la exposición y proporcionando sitios de exhibición con el apoyo de la Alabama Humanities Foundation, que ayudó a planificar el proyecto y supervisa el transporte.
ACCS ofrece algunos de los entrenamientos y educación más extensos y actualizados en aviación y campos relacionados. «Alabama’s Aviation History» commemorates the 200th anniversary of the State of Alabama
The Alabama Bicentennial Commission and Airbus announce the opening of “Alabama’s Aviation History,” a traveling exhibition created to help commemorate the state’s 200th anniversary.
Sponsored by Airbus, the exhibition showcases Alabama’s long and significant history in aviation, aeronautics and aerospace innovation and achievement. Its earliest beginnings predate the famous Wright Brothers’ first civilian flying school, established in Montgomery in 1910, and its history embraces both world wars, as well as a pivotal ongoing role in space research and exploration.
The exhibit opens Friday at Alabama Shakespeare Festival in conjunction with the Alabama premiere of «Fly», a play about the Tuskegee Airmen. According to ASF, the exhibit will be open noon-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, as well as to ticket holders of «Fly.»
Michelle Hurdle of Airbus notes that the exhibition celebrates a history that helped bring Airbus to Alabama. “Airbus found a real home in Alabama where innovation and excellence are traditions. The exhibition will help tell that story to people all over the state”, she said.
The exhibition will go on to tour the state through a partnership with the Alabama Community College System. ACCS is coordinating the exhibition and providing exhibition sites with the support of the Alabama Humanities Foundation, which has helped plan the project and oversees transportation.
ACCS provides some of the most extensive and up-to-date training and education in aviation and related fields. According to Michael McDaniel, director of ACCS aviation programs, “not only will the exhibition tell a fascinating story about what Alabama has done in the past, but we hope it will inspire young people to pursue careers in the aviation and aeronautics workforce”.
