British Airways acuerda sindicato para poner fin huelga laboral

British Airways (BA) ha establcido un nuevo acuerdo salarial con su sindicato de pilotos BALPA, evitando el riesgo de huelgas hacia fin de año. Como parte del acuerdo, BA acordó insertar una cláusula de protección contra la inflación en su oferta de pago anterior de un aumento del 11,5% en tres años. También ofreció mejoras en las condiciones de trabajo, listas y bonos de vuelo.

BALPA representa a la mayoría de los pilotos de BA donde ha expresado que ha accedido a la negociación. Una votación de los pilotos de BA ahora tendrá lugar en los próximos días para votar sobre el nuevo acuerdo. Si los pilotos votan a favor de la propuesta, pondrá fin a unos meses costosos y turbulentos para BA que lo vio afectado por la primera huelga de pilotos en la historia de la aerolínea. La huelga de 48 horas en septiembre provocó la cancelación de 2.325 vuelos, lo que costó al grupo matriz de BA, IAG, unos 137 millones de euros.

The British airline has been criticized after a series of high profile failures in recent years, including a technical problem this week that caused a handful of flight cancellations and long delays. He suffered a significant data breach last year and a serious system failure in 2017 that resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights. He has also received the anger of the clients for his handling of the two-day strike by the pilots, who saw the cancellation of almost all the flights of the airline during the strike.
